Anthony Bourdaine Had the best job in the word. I was jealous of his lifestyle. Traveling the world eating great food and getting drunk in every country. Hot girlfriend. Lots of money that dude had it all. I just don't get it. Poor guy must have been in a lot of pain.

He traveled something like 280 days out of the year. Cost him 2 marriages and perhaps separation from others he loved most. I've been in his shoes and can relate. The road is a lonely place to be. Although the money was very good, it put me in a very dark place, especially when there were job related problems and no support or someone to lean on and share your trials. I got out of that black hole several years ago and it saved me. I suspect that Mr. Bourdain could not.

RIP Chef.

Not everyone has a soul like you. The road effects ppl differently. I know a guy who can't wait to hit the road, get away from his wife and kids, and he's away about the same, 280 days a year. Hates his life when he's home but brags about it when he's away. But he's a vacuous hole of a person. I've honestly never met anyone who doesn't give a damn about anyone or anything other than himself more than this cunt. So. Yes, that lifestyle might have a negative impact on some, but for others it's ideal. Depends on the person.

He's talked many times about a hard partying past that he had. And even has written about it.

I'm going with slinkys comment.
No note found. Not necessarily a suicide.

who knows what's in someone's mind..

You never know what people really feel inside. I have thought about it a lot recently mainly because I quit smoking cold turkey after more than 10 years of poisoning myself and in the first week of my first try avicci killed himself. A few of his songs really touched me and he was the same age as me which really led me to start thinking about death. I figured I might have already killed myself through all the poison I put in my body over the years. The cravings when i first quit were so bad even though I knew it was so bad for my heath I really questioned weather life is worth living. I wanted to pull out a bunch of cash and hire a bunch of porn stars in Vegas for a final week of partying and make a deal with one to Mary me so I could buy her a life insurance policy so she would load a line of blow with China white or something to take me out so it would look like an OD... Than I woke up from my 18hour edible enduced cat nap and i decided I’ll give the scientists a few more decades before I decide old age isn’t for me. I did love all the travel shows with mr Bourdain but I never got to meet him or get to know him so I don’t know what kind of problems he might have been facing or what kind of thoughts were going through his head but I respect and almost admire his decision. Besides why leave a note if you really know what you want to say to people when you go your probably not ready to go.

Sorry about the double post Before and also I got a feeling suicide will be on the rise with older people as blood pressure pills and vitamins can allow us to eat the tastier things in life but dementia is still irreversible and alztimers etc.... maybe mr bourdain realized he was loosing his mind and didn’t want to love for another couple decades drooling in a diaper not knowing what day it is

Some conspiracy theorists have advanced the theory it was murder. Reports say that he hanged himself with the belt from his bathrope. Kate Spade was also a hanging. One of the narratives about suicide is that publicity sometimes inspires copycats so it's quite coincidental that Bourdain chose the same way that Spade did within hours of her death. As further proof of the copycat theory, I read that middle-aged male suicides spiked about Robin Williams death.

I've had a bunch of people say I'm crazy about my proposition in regards to Anthony Bourdain. But if he hung himself with the belt from his bathrobe, then he was obviously laying there exposed so I don't understand what is so far-fetched about it

I don’t know if he was clothed when he was found or not, but it’s certainly possible to use the bathrobe belt to hang yourself without ever actually having to undress or put on the bathrobe.
