LI Bust

Knowing a little about Genius's MO, they probably advertised in Newsday. That is certain doom for an AMP.
I think it's more about complaints from neighboring businesses and other busybodies. Once a complaint is made LE has to do something- otherwise it looks like someone is on the take.

We have no one but ourselves to blame for this. Reason seems to stand that LE will peruse this board and pick up info. 11 Marie was getting so much free press here that they couldn't ignore it. Even though the place was UTR it stood out like a sore thumb. It was too easy. They had no concept of discretion. I'm sure it was an easy bust.
I dont think so RT, I am going to go with Genius with complaints, it was next door to a hall & to across the street from a very active Beauty salon which the girls probably have nothing better to do but call & complain...

Look @ 148 S. Front St. Farmingdale, more action going on there......

You may be right, but why would there be complaints from nosy retail neighbors? They see men going to the door at 11 (which looks like a non-descript storefront with an insurance sign) and coming out a little while later. They may see Asian women entering and leaving. What about that inspires a complaint to LE? It's not like there's a bunch of low lifes hanging around.

So even if a complaint is lodged, LE has to have some sense of what's really going on. They couldn't possibly justify the time & expense of a stake out based on little info. How would they know? They read about it here? It was probably a combination of the two.

Don't forget the competition

That area is the AMP hub of LI. I wouldn't be surprised if a competing spot dropped a dime. Many MP owners do frequent review sites like this and so many places have been slow due to the recession.

I know that it's a jungle out there and logic doesn't always reign among the management teams at KMPs and AMPs. However, you would figure that the thickest of skulls would conclude that more LEO scrutiny was worse than less and that it was bad for business in general.

After all, during the Chinatown gang war of 1990-1991, the gangs made peace because they concluded that all those murders was attracting scrutiny, which was bad for business.

Oh well, logic doesn't always reign . . .

IMHO – what you have described is precisely what that inspires a complaint to LE if you happen to be a busybody who has been put on this earth to report on others immoral behavior.
So even if a complaint is lodged, LE has to have some sense of what's really going on..
Oh come on – of the present crop of 30 or so actively advertizing (ND & Craig’s) AMPs how many do you suppose are legit? Two or three? The cops ain’t stupid. But when a complaint gets on the books it looks bad if it is ignored. Other issue are parking spaces – if you have a small strip mail – say with a hair salon, pizza place, liquor store, bagel place and stationary store there is a certain amount of synergism – all of them have customers that are there for a very short time and while you are picking up your pizza you may also get a bottle of wine. Plus the employees of one shop may utilize the services of the others. Not so with an AMP – they go into the AMP in the morning, bring their own food, and aren’t seen until they leave at night. The AMP customers would prefer not to be seen at all ( look at how “they have a back door” is a plus) and certainly will want to get the hell outa there when done, and to add insult to injury, tie up a parking space for an hour and change.

The other shops have everything to gain by “doing their civic duty” and calling in a complain.

Unfortunately this tactic has been used recently against a CMP in Garfield NJ. I agree it's not the best tactic but using LE is often the easiest of method since many AMPs don't have the resources (i.e., funds or talent) to compete with spots receiving a lot of internet review and traffic. Also I thought the 90s Ctown war the establishment of the Fukienese gang dominance as well as warding off Viet gang infringement.

I suspect that you might have missed my point. If I remember correctly, it was seven Chinese gangs versus the one Vietnamese gang (the BTKs). However, the police scrutiny that occurred after the escalation of murders -- especially those in which each victim's hands were tied behind their back and they were shot in the head -- was bad for business.

It got to a point where there were three cops on every corner. Therefore, none of the gangs -- Chinese or Vietnamese -- could conduct business. As a result, the gangs found a way to resolve their differences and the police presence gradually evaporated.

As expected TODAYS ND

Four women were arrested and charged with prostitution Thursday at massage parlors in Hicksville and Mineola, police said.

Nassau vice squad detectives also charged the four, along with two other women at a separate Mineola massage parlor, with unauthorized practice of massage.

The prostitution arrests were made at the Graceful Service parlor, at 246 Mineola Blvd., Mineola, where two Flushing women, ages 44 and 46, were charged; and at 11 W. Marie St., Hicksville, where a Woodhaven woman, 58, and a Flushing woman, 52, were charged, Nassau police said.

At a parlor at 307 Willis Ave., Mineola, a Flushing woman, 40, and a Monterey, Calif., woman, 38, were charged with performing massages without a license.

I think i dodged a bullet. I was about to visit the place right before they got busted. I had called about 20-25 mins to see if they were open (about 6:30 pm thurs night). They told me to come on down. I get there and park my car in the lot behind the place. As I walk around the corner, I see a middle aged white guy with a light beard and flannel coat standing in front of the door with a flash light in his hand, facing out to the street. I walk past him non- chalont and we made eye contact. I was not 100% if this was a bust or not, so I walk back to the car and call the number again, both times it went to voicemail.

On a different topic, does anyone remember an AMP in Baldwin on newton ave about 2-3 mos ago? I used to go there as my regular amp spot. They had some young cute girls there, better than your typical AMP, but I never got anything more that your typical HJ HE. Anyway did they get busted? I forgot to take the number down before they closed, I was wondering if they moved elsewhere. They did advertise on CL when they were around . Any info appreciated. I tried to search this board for info, but no luck.

How many insurance companies that you know have their windows blocked off so you cant see inside? How many insurance companies have only female asian workers? Have many insurance agencies have only male clientele that get escorted out with an asian women that gives an embrace at the door? Oh and my favorite, how many insurance companies actually turn away customers. LOL

They were on the clock. Pretty much every poster that went to 11 Marie saw the writing on the wall.

Only you and Bill Clinton would believe that. And yes I did get a BBJ (not to completion and with dimishing quantities of time the more visits I went) and did faux sex with Su-Gee. And the HE falls on the deifinition of sex.

From the article:
"Two Queens women were arrested in Glen Head Tuesday and charged with illegally performing massage therapy for money and for offering to perform sexual acts for a fee, police said."

Every news article quoting police sources about an AMP arrest states the same thing, offering to perform sexual acts for a fee.

I know this has been discussed before but I highly doubt that. The operative word in the article is offering, implying the girl made the first move. From my experiences AMP girls never initiate a sexual menu. Unless this is a FS place, sex and money are rarely if ever discussed in an AMP. The only thing I've heard is "How much you tip?" But that comes on the heals of a request....not an initiation.

At this place in Glen Head (assuming it's the one I think it is), at least one girl offered a HE (with a gesture along with the words "you want?") and negotiated price.

I'm not a lawyer, but...

I wouldn't read too much into the verb "offer" as far as who initiated what. If the PO made a request for a certain service, and the woman responds with a price (or even the suggestion of a price, like "you take care of me?"), I'd consider her as offering to perform X for $Y.

While I can't say I've ever experienced an AMP worker initiating the P4P conversation, I can easily believe it went down as I just suggested.
