well considering my adventures up til this week had consisted of the red door and f-stop then was reduced to cl after they went bye bye. i have to say sosua was quite a treat. love those dark girls and even if you dont,, you will by the time you leave. good advice off the board on places to go and stay.. thanks guys! great time.
hmocha... I need some advice as I will be taking my first trip to the DR this October. Any way I can find out about where to stay, and where to go down there from you? Sounds like you've been to a few places... I'm not going down there to vacation with the family. 
And I looked into Blackbeards and they're booked... so now do I just push off to another month or what?? anyone can help but hmocha seemed to be pretty knowlegable. Thanks everyone!

I visited over two years ago, with a couple of friends, and we had barely a few words of Spanish amongst the three of us, and had no language issues at all.
I would also recommend a visit to Puerto Plata and Playa Dorada. There is very nice night club in playa dorada, I think it was called Mangoes, or something like that. Very lively, loud place with excellent music and a great mix of pros, semi-pros and non-pros to be found there. Also, crystals is a great full-service strip club in Puerto Plata. We really enjoyed our experience there. Crystals is definitely pricier compared to Sosua, but has great talent and nice atmosphere.
We hired a guide/driver from Sosua who spent 10-12 hours driving us from Sosua to Puerto Plata and Playa Dorada. Split three ways, the cost wasn't all that much.
Just one word of caution: If you are into the casino scene, watch out! There are several casinos all over DR running major scams. A lot of tourists (including myself, unfortunately) have lost large sums of money at these scams. One particular scam they run there is a game called Super Keno. If you walk into a casino and see this game, run from that place like hell.

I stayed in Playa Dorada, I like that place. The problem is they do not let you bring girls back to the room. If you meet someone, you have to bring them somewhere else.
I am another victom of the Casino Scam, they did the same thing to me in the Capital. I got taken for thousands in cash and on three credit card. I placed a complaint to my credit card companies and I got my money back from two of them. I was still swindled out of all my cash on hand, and one credit company would not reverse the charges.

Swiggy - Depeding on the hotel they may not let you bring in chicks. The lower priced ones usually have no problem with it. The Colonial area is cool, you will be near Condo Street, which is a great shopping street, it is closed to traffic.
On the corner of Conde and Independence Avenue is a Resturant called Poco's. It is a 24 hour open air cafe. Great spot to meet semi pro and non-pro women. I met an Italian College student there last year.

any idea what the semi- pros are asking? i might have a free day im not sure yet. also i was just gonna show up and get a hotel... always cheaper than the net and i can get a look at the place before i stay . ive already gotten laid twice in the dominican republic by picking the place with the hotter workers. where else can you bang your maid and your waitress the same day? Ive had 2 maids 3 front desk girls and i can't even count the number of waitresses. you just can't let them see you going in and out with women (sometimes they don't even care, but if you do it after you've been with them it will insult them if you walk in with someone else). Prices for non/semi/maybe pros, is not what they are asking, it's how much you want to give them. I always give them $100 for the night. As far as getting a hotel the same day, I like to know there is a room waiting for me.
I never mess with the help in hotels, for the reasons you stated. I also feel that it is disrespectful to walk in with other women after doing the help.

i think its a bit more expensive in the south than in the north. i always give 2000 pesos for the night which is about $60. ive never brought a girl past a hotel employee ive banged either. i just change hotels, sounds like a big deal but i do it anyway most of the time. you definitely are a bit more generous than me ... im not cheap at all but i feel when you give more money they think your a sucker, and if you see them a couple nights later they won't leave you alone as easily. im particular but not so picky about who i take back with me if im mongering. i definitely go for chemistry versus the hottest chick in the place. also the way a girl goes about it will make me boot her. if i get quoted a high price or she want to start haggling right away ... goodbye. Half the time they either don't want to leave or invite me to come with them. lots of times ive dropped a girl off at her place and got invited in and end up fucking her again. Its all about who you pick .. I stay away from the hardcores and look for a girl whos a little shy. very rarely do i make a bad choice now , just be patient. also ive used your method a lot as i always rent a car. i have no problem stopping in the middle of any town and going in for a beer. ive never had a problem. I'm surprised there is so little discussion here about the place. if everyone only knew how easy it is. im 50 pounds overweight and 43 years old , not a problem over there at all. a little spanish and your 10 times more in than someone who doesnt speak it. Eddy we really have to teach these kids!!!
Hey Swigs, the going rate in the Capital is $100 if you get them from a club geared towards tourists or upscale Dominicans. I know a few spots which are $200 for a night, and you will be in the company of the Dominican Rich and Famous! Needless to say those spots offer the prime of the prime in women.
I usually pick up girls in the Casino, I tell them before we go to the room that I am giving them $100 for the night, by that time they are so drunk that if I told them $20 it would properly be ok.
You should be able to find all the women you can handle for $2000 peso's. I only go for super hot women, which many times are a disappointment. I do not really care, the fact is, that I cannot come close to getting someone like that up here, without a significant out lay of cash.

As far as getting around, I have a guy who drives me when I need him. He is a high ranking officer in the Navy. It gives me Card Blanche to go were I want, and I don't have to worry about problems at the bar. If I take out a girl, they know that if they try any bullshit, I have someone who will come looking for them.
I'm a couple of years older then you, could afford to loose a few pounds myself, but these women only see $$$ signs. I like keeping it quiet, if anyone is interested they can learn themselves.

If you want to bring girls back to the room with you, then stay away from AI spots. AI spots do offer good value for a vacation. If you stayed at an AI spot you would have to go to in call. If you met a girl you really liked, you could register her at the AI hotel, and pay for her stay. The other choice is to find girls at local clubs, and bring them to a short stay motel, they have lots of them.
Finding hot babes will not be a problem at all. The girls are very aggressive, they will swamp you. There are always cab drivers, who can take you to good spots. You can them ask them to hang out with you. This way you do not have to be alone. They do not charge much, sometimes you can find one to hang out for free, you just have to buy the beer.
