this blackbeards place bills itself as an "adult" resort and defines that on there site as nobody under 18. I cant help but thinking there is more to it than that. Is there?

There rates are low, so I doubt if the girls are included. The rooms do not have AC, and the place looks like a 2nd rate motel.
Also, We all know there is no shortage of providers in the DR, but it is illegal. They do from time to time close down spots. I do not think this is a sex resort. The owner proberly lets good looking providers hang around.

Stayed at Blackbeards
I stayed at Blackbeards once. Girls are not included in the price, but their are plenty of them. The owner has an arrangement with a local mamacita who provides the girls. It is cool in that you know the girls are clean and don't have any wacky behavior problems. If they ever act up, steal from a guest, etc. they are banned. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean, but nothing special. If you are looking for a place to just relax, hang on the beach, and get laid in a guilt free environment I highly recommend it. If you are looking for a more rounded vacation experience then it is probably not the place for you. Oh, and the rooms do now have AC, though it goes out whenever the power goes out (about a couple of hours a day - same as everywhere else on the Island). No phones in the rooms, but free Wifi in the lobby (go figure)

it sounds like a completely different exerence then say going to one of the towns, (say sousa), and finding your own way.
i have to believe the hotel gets a cut of the girls take so that probably drives the price up. HMocha did you find that the prices were comparible to getting laid while out and about?

Nice report! That is excatly what I thought the place was, and how they handled the women. I could see how many would like this place, but it is not for me.
I do not like the beach towns. I have been to most parts of the DR over the past 25 years, and enjoy the Capital most. Some of the small towns traveling to the South are real cool. Hang out in local spots, and pick up women. It is refreshing to pick up women who do not sleep with you two minutes after saying hola, and do not ask you for money! I have local friends, who show me around, without them it would be hard, and not much fun.

Always have light, AC, hot water, and most important - 24 hour room service, banging all night can make you real hungry!

It is very easy to find your way around Sousa, most know what the gringo is there for. I would guess that the hotel does not take any money from the girls. The head girl who finds them for the boss may take a small piece of the action.
Remember - Prostitution is Not Legal I know that is hard to believe, but it is the case. Places have been busted, and owners of establishements have gone to jail.

I went to Negril about 18 years ago, to club Hedinisim. It was an inclusive place (meals, drinks, shows, included in price) The place had an underlining promation as a "sex club". I read many articles about in different adult mags (now I realize that they were written by the Hedinisim) The place sucked!!! There were about 20 guys to each girl, and most of the girls were not attractive. I also remember the ride from the airport to Nigril as long and scary. It was a two lane winding road, and the driver drove like a maniac.
Back then it was easy to get tricked, there was no internet.
The package was for a 10 days and after the third night, I got sick of the place and went out to do my own mongering. I found a cute girl at a local bar. It sucked because the Hotel would not let me bring her in, so I stayed with her at a local dumpy motel.
