A-Rods game winning home run

With a .355 avg and 70 RBI's so far....Derek Jeter should win the title. Did I mention 22 for 24 stolen bases?

Ah phooey!, Ortiz has 39 homers and 107 RBIs with like 52 games left. And so many game winning hits. Last night, again, it was Ortiz tie breaking homer in the 8th that put them ahead. Unless he tanks the last third of the season, he's gotta be mvp.

Also the Red sox backup catcher Maribelli was injured yesterday. And Varitek and also Trot Nixon, ouch!. Serves Boston management right for breaking up the team that finally crushed the Yankee.

The White Sox might just pull out that wild card.

Don't worry. They got bona fide Puerto Rican Javy Lopez. A 35 year-old 22 million dollar over-the-hill backup on the O's. Brilliant move. Red Sox panic and anxiety already kicking in.

The Yankees had two of their best players injured, they dealt with it, and knocked Boston out of first place.

I've never heard so much whining about a back up catcher being injured.

Buy yourself a good pair of knee pads and wait outside the players' entrance at Fenway. Maybe you'll catch Big Papi's eye when he's leaving.

Javy's skills may be completely lost. Seems like for the past 5 years his number are only as good as the year before.

It's not just their backup catcher who is injured, there's also one of their most important players, Varitek(their equivalent to Jeter) and Tim Wakefield and Trot Nixon.

The Yankee limped along with 2 of their better players out but quickly replenished before the trade deadline.

Don't count Jeter out of the MVP Thingie. If the Yanks win the East, and he wins the batting title, with about 100 RBI's, and plays as well as he plays in the field, he may still beat out Big Papi.

Typical Late July Early August Stuff:
-The Yanks go out and get the big names like Abreu. Although, quite honestly Lidle may be even more important to them then Bobby A.
-The Sox go out and get an aged catcher, named Javy Lopez.
-The Yanks get the deals done, like them or not, and the Sox normally make excuse after excuse.

Wow, E-Rod does it Again! That's twice he screwed Moose over. Just look at Moose's face after the error. Priceless! To compound it. He left more men on the basepath than Custer did on the field of Little Bighorn. The only consolation is that the inept Redsox got swept by the Royals with their saviour ace Schillin on the mound. Lost five in a row to the D-Rays and Royals. How about that?

the red sox have gone thru a slump for the past couple of seasons they get really hot and then cool off and play like dead fish, lets just hope that they lose the series to baltimore also, thank god for the red sox loss tho, and tonite expect the boo birds to be in full force when pussy lips steps up to the plate,

In genenral, you are right BUT if the Bosox win the division and Papi continues to hit in the clutch it will be hard not to give him the mvp.
I'm betting Papi doesn't finish top two in the MVP voting no matter where he and the Sox finish.

Thome was a favorite but he's hurt by Konerko's and Dye's big years. Detroit doesn't really have one player. Ditto for Oakland. Angels, Twins, and Indians aren't making the playoffs so no Vlad, Hafter or Mourneau.

How about AROD coming through with a Sac Fly after getting thrown out at third. Though could that really be his fault? I would love Jeter to win it, so we could watch Arod's jealousy and frustration fester.

Wow, three whole days and no one's picked on A-Rod. Must be a slow weekend. Maybe one of you guys will get lucky and your sister will marry him. Then you'll be able to get your hands on that moolah.
