Last Minute DR Trip
Hi folks -
Had my heart broken this week and am planning to drown my sorrows in some beautiful DR women while staying in a nice (4* - 5* place). All reccomendations would be appreciated. I am planning to leave tomorrow, but may wait until saturday, going for 4 - 5 days.

So i've heard.
An acquaintance of mine wants to repay me for a favor i did by giving me his time share slot for a week in DR. Unfortunately, i have to stay at the Occidental Grand Flamenco in Punta Cana.
To be in DR and be where the action isn't is just ridiculous.
Maybe i'll just go for the sun and beach this time and then go again when you're going in October for the real fun.

There is action there, but its not of the 700 hookers walking around action type. You can't bring chicas in either.
Went to DR for the first time with a buddy in June 2005. We were there to mainly soak up the sun and play some golf and we choose DR because it's relatively cheap compared to other Caribbean islands. We later find out its a good place to monger. We stayed at a all-inclusive resort Playa Real about 30-45 minutes outside of Santo Domingo. Right at the airport, a guy came up to us asking if we wanted to see some chicas. He said he was a tour guide and can show us around, we just took his cell number and he hail us a taxi.
While at the resort, we met a hotel employee named Raul and he said he is a personal tour guide in his off hours. He picked us up in his car at a gift shop down the street because he doesn't want people from the hotel to know. He took us to Boca Chica, we roamed the bars until we found a couple of cute chicas (solid 8s) to our liking. The hotel doesn't allow guest but Raul knows how to sneak them in from the side, if we get caught just tip the security guard. We brought the girls back for a overnight liason, my damage was $25 US for Raul, chica-ask for 3000 dominican-agreed 2500, plus drinks at the bars. My buddy paid similar cost. We shared a double-room, so we also got to sample each other's chicas.
On the last day, Raul took us to a local place a few minutes from the hotel, I think it's called Illusions night club basically a brothel. Chicas are mostly 5s-7s, I got a 7 for 1000 dominican. Stayed for a couple of hours until Raul came back to pick us up.
All in all a good trip, played a couple of rounds of golf at Metro Country Club nearby, do the water activities and mongered. Will definately go back to DR, not at the same place though, probably go to Sousa next.

It depends on the day and the place. It ranges from 26-28 to $1. You will get even worst rates at the casinos, 25 or less. But if you play at the tables, if you give US dollars they give you US chips. When you cash out you get US dollars back. I saw some young chicas working the casinos but I did not partake.

I'd appreciate any recommendations amongst the Sosua Bay Hotel (Sabatini), the Azzurro Club in Cabaret and the Casa Marina Beach.
I know they're all IC so it probably doesn't really matter but word seems to be the Sosua Bay is the best of the three.

i need to ask a stupid question. I am thinking about going there in january. when i put my dates into expedia some flights say 8 hours, some say 13. with no stops. from laguardia to santa domingo. Just how long is it to get there? also i am looking to stay at a resort, all inclusive type place. any suggestions just be greatly appreciated.
Is sousa the place to go, or santo domingo. my first trip there and i am going solo so any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.
