Julie's Busted

(1010 WINS) (NEW YORK) Manhattan Madam Julie Moya says she’s being singled out for prosecution by NYC authorities who want her to name her prominent clients.

“A few madams have gotten it, but not as bad as me”, said Moya in an exclusive jailhouse interview at Riker’s Island with 1010 WINS reporter Mona Rivera.

She said she is sitting “on ice” at Riker’s while authorities squeeze her to identify her Johns, who she said paid up to $600 an hour at her brothels.

Moya admits being a madam, but denies allegations that her service, Julie’s of New York, employed ******** girls as prostitutes and that she smuggled in virgins from overseas. “There are no teen virgins,” she said.

Moya said the “rumors” about kidnapping and smuggling of ******** prostitutes began after one ******** girl lied about her age to get in and was fired. The girl then told her mother she had been kidnapped, Moya said, and the mother called authorities.

Moya said she operated her high-priced brothels in NYC without problems for ten years and provided a valuable service. She urged officials to legalize prostitution in New York. “I have a lot of friends who are Madams and they’re out there doing fine right now,” she said.

Moya's ring, which prosecutors maintain took in $3 million to $6 million a year, was shut down in January. She pleaded not guilty to a 56- count indictment and faces up to 15 years in prison on the most serious charge: promoting prostitution with a person under 16. She is being held on $500,000 bail. Her next court date is June 6.
