I would just like to comment that "male" and "female" are social constructs, not biological entities, just like gender. Many things happen in the body of a fetus, an infant, and then an adolescent, to shape their gender. Often, these changes are incongruent. You can have a vagina and a penis develop together. You can be born with neither. You can be born with half of each. You can have the body of a beautiful woman, but have XY genetic make-up and testes inside, instead of ovaries, and never know that you are a "man" until you go to the doctor. All of this can have tremendous influence on gender, another social construct.

Exclusive heterosexual relationships have only been encouraged in the Judeo-Christian and Islamic traditions. In hinduism, buddhism, and most native american religions, variations from the median sexual development and preference are as much a part of society, as, say different professions or different physical attributes. Some creation myths of the pacific islanders contain dieties with ambiguous genitalia.

I find the topic of alternative sex highly fascinating, because of its biological and social significance. If I were to harbor this curiousity on a sexual level, I would no doubt be eager to explore it. However, my sexual attraction is exclusively directed at women between the ages of 19 and 29, with very few exceptions.
