I don't agree with the part "that's what women should do" and with the idea of breaking his son in "the game". (Not to mention that this last one could be illegal to the point that it is unacceptable even for this board).
As someone else said, let the children choose their own path. I hate when parents choose their children's profession, no matter whether its medical, law or as in this unusual case prostitution.
Otherwise, in general, if a father or mother learns that the daughter has become a prostitute and they support her, this does not bother me. That's different from pushing someone in that direction. That's understanding her choice in life.
Personally, I see prostitution as any other profession. It is one of the most valuable contribution to every society. Sex is an inevitable part of our life and by outlawing prostitution the American society has taken e great risk.
I have nothing but deep respect for the girls who chose this career. I respect even more those parents who have chosen to stand by them as this is a dangerous profession similar only to that of cops.
I don't agree with the notion that "they sell their bodies". They don't. They take the body with them when they leave. They sell intimacy. They offer pleasure. As in every profession and business not everyone is good and not everyone is fair.
I don't have kids. If I had I would have been against them joining this profession, just like I would have been against them joining the army or the police. However, make no mistake, there are few more indispensable services than prostitution to a country.
I wish to all these girls good luck and may the day come when none will put them in jail for helping their fellow citizens find some simple but fundamental pleasure, by doing what nature or God equipped us to do. Life is too short for moralistic bullshit.
