Winter Snow Sports

Unfortunately there isn't as many places anymore.
Insurance companys and new housing put an end to that.
Bald hill is a perfect example. 20 years ago it was the place to go. However a few injuries and lawyers put an end to that.
Now it's houses.
Some Schools usually have some kind of hill that's enough fun for the kids. Sachem comes to mind. At least it did back in the day.

Indian Hollow School in Commack has a nice hill in the back that is great. It can get a little crowded though so best to get there early on a snow day. And obviously can’t use if school is in session.

I’m shocked that school districts still allow sleigh riding on school grounds. The lawyer sharks have put an end to most fun.

Sunken Meadow has always been great. Longest downhill i know of.
