This is exactly what my post talked about.

It seems you find it physically impossible to just eat crow without throwing in something that you feel builds you right back up.

I can't recall ever seeing such insecurity, especially in a man, before.

Anyways ..........

got any hot picks for next week? :p

The fact is my picks don't matter. I personally haven't placed a bet on any sports event in almost a year. I bet on the election cause that was too easy and the odds were too good. I make way more money letting other fools bet on the games for me... except I win when they lose.

I just admitted my picks this week were horrible.... What more do you want me to say that eats crow?

I have no clue what the lines are next week.
Im guessing Pitt around minus 2, and Philly minus 3 up to minus 6.

Im thinking take half what I won, and Im thinking NE plus the points. Ill know for sure when I see the spread.

Pitt vs Phila
If this holds, who with the Governor of Pa bet with? Ain't there a rule that governor's gotta lay a bet on the Superbowl?

"Fast Eddy" Rendell is an Eagle fan from his days in Philly.

Does anybody recall if there have ever been intrastate Superbowls before?

Niners and Raiders?

I'm seeing lines Philly -4.5 and Pats -2
Those were the early odds when the books opened (2 minutes after second game ended)

Here's the big five casinos/sportbooks and latest odds (as of 9:45pm)

NEW ENGLAND..... 2
PITTSBURGH.... 38

Stardust.... 3+ 05 37

Mirage.... 3+ 10 37

CRIS.... 3+ 05 37

CRISML.... -145 37 +125

Olympc.... 3+ 10 37

ATLANTA.... 42
PHILADELPHIA.... 4½

Stardust.... 4½ 41

Mirage.... 4½ 41½

CRIS.... 4½ 41½

CRISML.... +185 41½ -215

Olympc.... 4½ 41

Obviously there was already a huge hit on Phila and a slight hit on NE as soon as they opened. Maybe BMM is spending his Jenny money already.

The Guv has said many times he will be cheering for the Steelers against everybody except the Eagles. If the 2 get to the Super Bowl, Ed will be wearing green and silver.
Similiar to Rudy when the Yanks and Mets were in the WS

I guess the two mayors can bet.

Cloud Nine

I had to open my big mouth.......
For you non-Philadelphians, Ed Rendell actually does commentary on the post game show on the local sports cable channel.

Kinda freaky, I know its sunday and all, but you think the governor of one of the largest states would have something more worthwhile to do than be a talking head for a football team.

The Jets/Steelers game was exciting, but very disappointing in the end. All of the points came from the defense, how pathetic was that? I was pissed since Chad couldn't move the chains. The two missed FG were just the icing on the cake. Hats off to the Steel Curtain and the Bus.

The Colts/Pats game was even more pathetic. Indy's defense held up at least for the first half. The linebacker core was sick and overall defense was impressive. Unfortunately as a Jets fan, I hope they are dethroned.

Steelers vs Eagles in the superbowl.

Cloud Nine

I had to open my big mouth.......
After watching the Pats manhandle the Colts and seeing Pittsburgh offense struggle against the Jets Im more inclined to say that a Pats/Eagles SB is more likely.

I'll know more after this coming sunday....

Ive always liked the Eagles, but would never admit it on this board, especially around guys like C9, but Im VERY concerned this coming Sunday. Hotlanta, Vick, this man moves better than any NFL QB Ive ever seen, and I hope Philly is prepared for this.
I wont place a bet this weekend, I think its all going to be too close, but Ill make my picks shortly.(well, maybe a tiny little wager, but Im not giving back my moolah.)

for the record, and my brilliant sports betting rep, I did pick Philly and NE to cover last weekend, I *****ed ozzy with my picks so at least they could be verified. Coulda been riding high, but no betting. Take NE in the superbowl. Sorry Philly.
