Prostitution Marketing 101

#21
A savvy escort will work on all levels if escorting her primary income. I had a conversation with a girl who saw $150 clients all the way up the $1,000 client. She said she saw her business like the Hilton chain: they come in all price points but its still Hilton. Because of this approach, she is busy all the time.

Understood, this doesnt work for everyone.

I am now starting to advertise on my own at $200/hr, but was once working for someone else at MUCH higher price points at $600-1200/hr. Some of the girls scoffed at the $600 jobs, but the madame said, "You have to accommidate everyone thats how i stayed in business for so long."

It all depends on what kind of client you want.

I saw the site of a girl who has a 2 hour minimum and offers to cook for the client for sigificantly more. Its safe to say she is aiming at the men who have the time to dedicate to seeing her.

The provider who charges 3-5k per day/week/month wants to build intimate relationships on a long term level. A mistress thing.

Ive seen ads of girls who have prices that start at 15 minutes. One could say she is attracting the clients who want to get in and out, not pay too much and move on to the next girl. Th provder could care less because there is always someone around the corner.
Closest yet to getting at what I was asking.

Thanks.

So how do you plan to branch out into different levels of the business, aim your marketing at each niche, and be effective in all of them?

How would you apply the term "value added" to the higher end of the spectrum to produce the perception that the higher dollar amount being paid for what is essentially the same product [or is it?] is worth it?

@ Ines_Arnaud - Thanks for posting on this thread. I'm curious, having offered services at a much higher price point, why have you chosen to charge $200/hour as you enter the indie market (as opposed to—just picking a figure out of thin air—$800/hour)?

It never ceases to amaze me how they can put their street addresses in the ads. Someone at the local precinct is getting a nice fat paycheck at the end of the month.

Maybe I'm just fooling myself, but I always thought that I'd be great at copywriting escort ads. I'd make that guy Dollar Bill look like an amateur. Him and his "oo la la, I'm an amorous latina with a phat booty" what a friggin jabrone.

You should give it a try, I agree with you about those cringe worthy lines, it's like a man thinking like a woman on what a man woudl like, just hooky.

You nailed it perfectly.

It's a man imitating a woman trying to think of what a man likes.

I'd just stick with what men like, period...which I know inside out.

You're right, but his ads are aimed at the 200-300/hour guys and they arent Mensa members. Plus the photos in his ads are close to reality and you know you walking into an incall, not some sting-eroo.

It seems easy. But, like so many things in life, it's a lot harder in practice. While I have no love for the Dollar Bill guy, he makes their phones ring on a regular basis. That says a lot.

I would imagine one could come up with clever copy a few times, but doing it day in and day out, and collecting accounts receivable... well even if there are girls who throw you freebies, that won't pay the bills and what seems like a goof from here is real work. Besides which he (Bill) has backed himself into a bit of a corner career wise.

Marketing legit sexy entertainment like Striptease, Pole Dancing, Burlesque and Roller Derby has so many more angles that one can work with. One can have pole dancing lessons for the ladies, or go out with friends to see a burlesque show, but how many ways can someone spin escort services. Maybe a brothel could offer a club type atmosphere, but guys don't generally get together to all do their favorite girl(s). It's not an upbeat fun group social thing. I realize it can be upbeat and fun, but there is only so much room for that with a general admission policy, so to speak.

Besides which of course, it's not legal to solicit such services, so you can only grow so much, and publicity flies in the face of UTR.

Go ahead. Try me.

I would object to the characterization you are making connecting budget, or taste in women to intelligence.

Once could go the other way and say guys who are dumb enough to overpay aren't mensa members.

Just look at the moron politicians who get caught paying thousands. :)

I will not contribute to any drama, in my posts or replying to posts of others, on UG or off UG/backchannel. I will not "stir the pot", incite others to gang up on posters, providers, etc. I will do my best to ELIMINATE drama, rather than create it.

Sounds like you've thought this through in quite a bit of detail.

Jack Nickolson's character in "As Good As It Gets": When asked, "How do you write women so well?", the character responds, "I think of a man and I take away reason and accountability."

How many of us here have not worked as pimps at one time or another?

Most of us on this board are pimps.

If you post a favorable review with contact info (or at least enough info to develop the contact info), then you are a pimp. But that is not a bad thing and it is unlikely that you will ever get arrested for the post even though technically the post qualifies as an act of pimping. Those that promote themselves or their organizations (again not a bad thing) are self pimping.

I am a consultant.
All I have to sell is my time and expertise in my area of practice.

In that way I am a little like the SPs who only sell time and expertise as well.

The big difference is that I sell to people who know me and sell large blocks of my time (sometimes a year or more for one assignment) instead of by the hour or two.

I was not getting anywhere when I first started out; I had looked at the going rates for others of similar levels of experience and expertise and set my rates at about 2/3 of their charge out rates. Everyone likes a bargain and I thought that I would have a steady supply of clients.

Didn’t work.

Based on some advice from a marketing consultant I had hired I doubled my rates. I was running a home based consulting business with little or no overhead and charging above market rates.

Worked wonders. I doubled the number of hours I was selling at double the rate or a 4x increase in income in a couple months. Of course to sustain the premium I had to deliver the services in a quality manner.

People often value what something is worth based on what they pay for it.

To me that is the difference between a $150, a $300 and a $600 or more an hour provider. They ask for it and get it because people think that they are worth it. The most expensive I ever paid was a $500 woman. She had a reputation as someone with some class and conservation skills and she delivered on it. We spent about an hour just chatting and getting to know each other before an hour or more (which was all I paid for) of fun times.

Bottom line is that she charged more than the going rate, more than delivered on the service and since then I see her a couple times a year, still at $500 an hour ( new clients are $600) and we have a relaxed relationship that makes for a great GFE.
I have seen prettier ladies, with better bodies and yes more physical skills that I would not return to, all they did was barely deliver on the minimum and nothing else.

Ladies you are selling a fantasy. We guys like to think that you really are our GFs if only for an hour or so. Treat us like that and we will come back for more. We will pay top dollar as well.

Nickel and dime us or only offer the absolute minimum and we will not only not come back but post negative reviews about you and that will in the long run hurt your business.
