I said there were slots and poker machines sitting under covers at the racetracks (Yonkers and Aqueduct) and that they might be operative any time now and you're telling me everything I said is wrong. Where have you been living... this has been constantly in the news for a few years now and twice it was passed but held up cause the local govts were arguing over the exact cut. Fucking Yonkers built an entire building on the racetrack grounds to house this shit and Aqueduct gutted half their grandstand and now holds computer shows in the vacant area they are reserving for the machines.

THESE are not casinos

they are proposed vlt facilities

You obviously have no clue what you or I am talking about...

WHERE DID I EVER SAYCASINOS WERE AT THE RACETRACK?

You're a fucking dope... Joker poker machines are NOT VLT's. Slots are NOT VLT's.

A Video Lottery Terminal or VLT is a gambling machine that allows gamblers to bet on the outcome of a video game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_Lottery_Terminal

"A VLT is similar to a slot machine, except that it is connected to a centralized computer system that determines the outcome of each wager using a random number generator. Although the outcome of each wager is random, VLT operators are able to program in advance the total amount and number of payouts that its central computer system will allow at its connected VLTs. In this manner, VLTs can be thought of as computerized scratch-off lottery tickets"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_poker

Video poker is a casino game based on five-card draw poker. It is played on a computerized console which is a similar size to a slot machine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slot_machine

A slot machine (American English), poker machine (Australian English), or fruit machine (British English) is a certain type of casino game. Traditional slot machines are coin-operated machines with three or more reels, which spin when a lever on the side of the machine is pulled. The machines include a currency detector that validates the coin or money inserted to play. (The slot machine is also known informally as a one-armed bandit because of its appearance and its ability to leave the gamer penniless.) The machine typically pays off based on patterns of symbols visible on the front of the machine when it stops. Modern computer technology has resulted in many variations on the slot machine concept. Today, slot machines have become one of the most popular attractions in casinos.

I thought you were stupid with your guarantee of gas jumping to $4 a gallon, and your idea of a national fixed price gas was at a certain gas station of your choosing.

Video poker and slots are going to be installed at racetracks later this year according to that march 30 2006 Wall Street Journal linked I posted and you refuse to acknowledge.

Do they have video machines with fruits and various symbols on them and you push a button or pull a handle and they spin on the screen... and when you win it spits out coins in a tray at the bottom ?

Cause thats called a fucking slot machine (slots for short) you dumb ass.

The same fucking thing I said was at the racetracks (along with poker machines) that you said were illegal.

Last week, Governor Pataki approved the new Mohawk indian casino to be built next to Mighty M Gaming. They are still waiting for final approval from the BIA ( Bureau Of Indian Affairs ) which is due shortly. However, I noticed this past weekend that several hundred pieces of heavy equipment had been moved into the parking lot. So it appears that construction will restart shortly.
It should take about 18 months to complete (site work and electrical was already completed).

This will be a complete casino with all card games. Estimated cost $800 million.
great news for sullivan county and the real card players.

don't know what his problem is!

The only disagreement I recall having with BMM was a few years before you apparently got here, and that's long in the past.

So I'd check my facts if I were you.

And you seem to be hung up on this VLT terminology bullshit. Just because it's used to circumvent a law doesn't change the fact its a video slot machine you play and win money. VLT's have always been what they say they are.... Video Lottery Terminals... similar to the kind that you find in most bars. Some crafty lawyer figured out he could get slots to fall under that characterization and place them on Indian ground and call them legal. And then some other crafty lawyer figured out whats good for the tom-tom maker is good for the racetracks. So now you have video poker and slot machines or VLT's (if calling them that makes you feel better) are being installed at local area racetracks.

So you said I was wrong... still insist I'm wrong, but cept for your "legal" terminology I am right.

OK... I checked the law as it's written for NYS and unlike other states re: machines requiring a gaming license, there also is no GL needed by the racetracks cause they changed the terminology in the first place. But that's not something we argued about and doesn't change the theory of gambling using a video machine.
