No one is saying I got ripped off because I didn't.
I just want a web designer to show me how to manage my site without changing the site I have as well as fix certain tech issues that I am having. xox

CSS templates are the backbone of any site- you can buy them - or download them for free-

same with wordpress.org

Its free- you choose a template - connect it to your blog -
Being that those are free, many authors of those templates DONT want their name off of there if you are using them -

Web designers get paid for their time - the same as escorts do -
Some escorts are 2 , 000 and hour or 250 an hour

Some designers are 400 500 a page
or 1 thousand or two thousand a page-
Fancy seeing you here.

Exactly... That's often the problem with web designers, and especially web design firms. They all want to upsell you and try to get you to pay to re-do the entire site. As a freelance web dude, I've even pulled this off myself a few times when dealing with larger corporate clients. Its the same old rigamarole that you get when upgrading a computer: "Sure, we could just add memory and a new hard drive... But what you REALLY want is the latest blah blah blah."

Just getting someone who will make the updates that you want in the way you want them done can be rather difficult... Most folks working on the web, especially programmers, think they know a lot better than their customers.

I've been thinking of trying to find a few provider website clients myself (I've written to Malissa, but as folks say here, I think she's a little busy celebrating). I've done a barter-for-services with one provider before, but that was years ago and she's long gone. It seems like there's a great niche market there... One that I happen to be rather fond of. :)

Sorry for not getting back to you but it's been a hectic month. In regards to my site my web designer took care of all the issues that I've had therefore saving me money and the time in finding/trusting someone new. There is a market for it but you have to be someone that a provider feels she can trust especially if the provider as myself has limited tech knowledge. Find a provider who is comfortable with you and I promise word of mouth will bring the rest especially if your site increases her income and image. xox

I am the owner of Pixelita Designs and I and my partner created and released the FREE theme Pink Stripe (among others), which Marissa is using. I've tried to contact her to offer assistance with tweaking the template. I am aghast at the behavior of the "web designer" who charged her hella money to slap up our free template.

OP, if you see this, please contact me (check my profile) and we can help you get your site in shape, and believe me, charges, if any, will be nominal. :)

Couldn't edit my post after 3 minutes, so I'm adding to it, as I just now read Malissa's last reply. I just wish I'd seen this thread earlier as I could have helped her get her site back up to speed, and believe me, charges, if any, would have been nominal. :)
