Exactly... That's often the problem with web designers, and especially web design firms. They all want to upsell you and try to get you to pay to re-do the entire site. As a freelance web dude, I've even pulled this off myself a few times when dealing with larger corporate clients. Its the same old rigamarole that you get when upgrading a computer: "Sure, we could just add memory and a new hard drive... But what you REALLY want is the latest blah blah blah."
Just getting someone who will make the updates that you want in the way you want them done can be rather difficult... Most folks working on the web, especially programmers, think they know a lot better than their customers.
I've been thinking of trying to find a few provider website clients myself (I've written to Malissa, but as folks say here, I think she's a little busy celebrating). I've done a barter-for-services with one provider before, but that was years ago and she's long gone. It seems like there's a great niche market there... One that I happen to be rather fond of.
