Contact Pixelita Designs, the company that designed your site in the first place, and ask them to make some changes to your web site. This is considered web site maintenance, and they will charge you a whole lot less then designing a completely new web site. Their Web Site is still up, so I assume they are still in business, unless their is some reason you don't want to deal with them, or they don't want to deal with you.

My site was designed by a provider babe so I have no idea whom(Pixelita Designs) you are referring to. I paid a lot of money for my site which is why I don't want to start a whole new one and what I need fixed is simple enough however since I am not a web designer I refuse to play around with it incase I mess it up even more. xox

Have you noticed how similar your web site is to many other provider-web sites? Do you really believe that this “Provider Babe” could design this web site from scratch? Have you tried to get in touch with this “Provider Babe” to fix your web site?
Go to your web site, enter and click the “Blog” tab. This page was not completed. Look at the very bottom. You will see the following:
“All original contents copyright © [year] and beyond by [Your name/site name], all rights reserved.
Pink Stripe WordPress Theme Designed by Joni Mueller & Ivan Minic for Pixelita Designs.”
Notice “copyright @ [year]” you are supposed to enter the year you copyrighted the web site.
Notice “[Your name/site name]” you are supposed to enter your name.
Notice the line below that that begins with “Pink Stripe”? This is a template for a web site that many use, and Pixelite Designs sold the template. Every part of this web site was prefabricated, and all you have to do is add your content, almost as straight forward as using a word processor (not quite, but you get the idea). If you paid as much for this web site as you would have to pay for a custom made web site, you got ripped off. I’m sure this kit web site is not beyond your capability, or you could get someone to finish it for you (perhaps Pixelite Designs).

Post an ad on Craigs List in the help wanted section. These days, that's the easiest way to connect with a Web designer or coder. Ask for references. But, state up front what type of site it is, so you don't run into any issues later on.

Well Malissa I'm not sure what type of upgrades are you looking for your website but I wonder how much you paid for this provider babe who made the site. Actually whoever they didn't make the site they just bought a pre created format and filled your details from what I understand. This must be the reason the people you contacted wants you to start a new site since it's more easier for them to start a new one rather than mess with a site thats already created.

Also I'm not sure if it was created by Pixelita Designs. After a little investigation I found out the only place Pixelita Designs name mentioned is on you blog page. Well guess what that blog theme is freely available at wordpress and was created by Joni Mueller for Pixelita Designs and the person who made your site simply downloaded it and installed it to your site. Here is the link to the free blog theme

http://themes.wordpress.net/columns/2-columns/1321/pink-stripe/

And be very careful if you choose someone from craigslist.....all kinds of rip off artists are there and once they get hold of sites admin password....i don't need to say the rest.

It seems as if this is a free service, as long as you don't require a personal domain name for your web site. The reason Pixelita Designs was only mentioned on the blog page, was that the provider babe never finished the blog page, so she didn't remove it.

One possible reason the other web developers didn't want to complete your existing web site is that they couldn't put their name on it as the copy right forbids them from doing so.

I created a web site on Yahoo some years ago using a similar pre designed template, discovered I could do a better job using Microsoft Front Page, so I used that instead.

I've had several responses to my post so I'm just contemplating whom to go with. It's more of a trust issue for me now.
The site cost me $500 and has been a pain in my ass since day one.
It looks great but functions like crap.
Unfortunately I can't answer the tech questions since my knowledge on the subject is limited.
Oh and the site was done by a provider....so I guess I should of put a comma between provider and babe :)

Make sure they can show you the finished work and you approve it before you pay them. Also, if possible don't give away any admin passwords if you don't have to. Either that or make sure you have them changed after the work is done.

LOL. I was wondering how long it was going to be before somebody realized that's what the "provider babe" thing was about.
If the Provider wasn't a babe, she wouldn't be a very good provider now would she? Or did you mean to call me a babe (along with the xox)>

Malissa, you still haven't fixed your web site.
I haven't had time yet babe :)
I'm graduating this week so once that's done I shall concentrate on my site......I've had a lot of responses so now it's just a matter of finding the right designer and making the time for it. xox

Correct no one was ripped off

CSS templates are the backbone of any site- you can buy them - or download them for free-

same with wordpress.org

Its free- you choose a template - connect it to your blog -
Being that those are free, many authors of those templates DONT want their name off of there if you are using them -

Web designers get paid for their time - the same as escorts do -
Some escorts are 2 , 000 and hour or 250 an hour

Some designers are 400 500 a page
or 1 thousand or two thousand a page-
