Internet Law and 2257
This is an old thread but it is associated with this subject a little and could be moved to the appropriate thread if need be! Tks...
I heard somewhere that a new law was passed at the end of 09 regarding Escort Websites on the Internet and the information posted on them. Not sure where I heard it and obviously I am having one of my blonde moments because I cannot remember all that was said--but it was something on the lines of association and content on the website. Maybe someone has heard about it and they could enlighten me? I enjoy staying current! Thanks much!
Also...I ran across this which is different than the law that I am inquiring about-but found it to be interesting.
US Fed Law 2257:
Should Escorts STOP Advertising on American Owned Websites and Directories?
The Conservative Law makers have conveniently changed the 2257 code to be interpreted in such a way that essentially anyone who has anything sexually explicit, on any web site needs to have some type of government issued documentation for their proof of the age on file with each website they advertise on.
Questions
1. Is the 2257 law above in effect now?
2. What is the link to a website that has the current laws regarding Adult
Entertainment/Escorts in USA and Are these websites current with 2010 Laws? (I did see an old link in this thread but not sure if it is still considered the best resource for current Internet Laws!)
