Coronavirus: The Sick Elephant In The Room

fear·mon·ger·ing
/ˈfirˌməNGəriNG/
noun
noun: fear-mongering
the action of deliberately arousing public fear or alarm about a particular issue.

Until we know all the facts, it's just fear mongering...
It might be too late by the time you know the facts. Jerking off for a couple of weeks won’t kill you. Couple of months might be a problem though

This is mass hysteria and really mass media hysteria.
And irrational fear. For instance why are people buying so much bottled water? Logically thinking, the water won't be contaminated with this virus and the water supply won't be turned off. So what are those people stocking up on it?
Yes I’ve seen this Costco was sold out. Some places outside of city don’t have good water so if you were quarantined ? National Guard handing out meals in Westchester. Seems serious.

I was wondering the same thing about toliet paper. At first I thought maybe CV gives you the runs.
But it is that people fear they are going to be Quarantined.

I am in Asia seeing some of this. The traditional surgeon's mask is no longer honored by some and some have stepped up their game.

Back during the plagues in the Middle Ages, people wore masks that filtered their air through marigolds. Now some are using rice vinegar doused cotton balls in their nostrils and swear by it as it supposedly had worked during prior outbreaks. And now some favor plant-based vegetation as a filter.

Boarding a bus unmasked, I was given scary dagger-eyes by a loaded bus filled with masked people and a 4 foot Asian woman, elbowed me in the ribs and garbled a few unintelligible angry words at me which could only have been "put on the f-ing mask you idiot." (She and the crowd were more scary than the virus itself.) I immediately complied.

It is now peer pressure that I have succumbed to and I wear it more often to not be criticized but it is quite uncomfortable in the heat as you breathe in some stale hot air that you expelled on your previous breath. It is also a good reminder to brush and floss your teeth more often as you constantly smell your own breath.

Yep and I wonder once people *keep* stockpiling how it will effect economic situations on the flip side once people don't need toilet paper etc for another year. I just don't know how much stockpiling is really going on though.

You're right it might be. And it won't.

Here's the problem I have with this though. Somebody tell me where I might be wrong.

You want to avoid say an AMP because well all the obvious reasons.

But let's say you work in Manhattan. So you take the bus and/or train to work and back. You spend all day interacting with coworkers and customers perhaps even needing to touch them or at least take money they just touched going out to lunch touching doorknobs and elevator buttons even bathroom doors. Indeed you're not face to face with most fucking them missionary or maybe kissing them but seems you just spent the day doing some "risky" things. A packed subway car is not fun even normally. Maybe somebody coughed. And not even talking about if you're a medical person in some capacity dealing with the public. yadda yadda

Now you go home. Your wife just spent her day under same scenarios as you. You won't slip out to the AMP but instead decide to fuck her. How is that better? What happened to the 6 feet of social distance? (not counting those of you with a large penis of course where you can keep your social distance and sitll complete any deed).

...... but I will always take extra precaution when a new virus comes around until all the facts are in.
Although I am by no means a germ phobic (I've licked many a pussy) I take a slight issue with your wording.

I always take reasonable precautions; I use automatic opening doors where available; I use the kick plate to open public bathroom doors and a paper towel to turn off facets and open pull handled doors; I press elevator buttons with my knuckle and if only going up a floor I take the stairs. There are many other common sense things everyone should do that take literally zero extra effort and once they become habit you don't even think about them.

Even if it prevents only one cold, one stomach virus, one flu infection over the rest of your life there simply isn't any downside.

Ps. Clearly the young guys at my gym that walk to and in the showers without wearing rubber flip flops have obviously, not yet anyway, had the experience of plantar warts (another virus — HPV).

It seems many Amps have been taking some days off, or have decreased staffing.
I went to my legit amp on Sunday. She said there have been very few customers. While I was there (at that time slot there were always other customers and lot of phone calls) I was the only one there, no calls, nothing. Most of the clients were Chinese (at least from what I observed while I was there with some getting foot massages in the chairs outside the curtained body massage areas).

They are hurting and I assume the girls on the street are too.

I had COVID-19 and here is my story. I made this post public out of several requests from my friends who asked me to share. I hope it gives you some good information and peace of mind!

First how easily you can get it. I believe I caught it when attending a small house party at which no one was coughing, sneezing or otherwise displaying any symptoms of illness. It appears that 40% of the attendees of this party ended up sick. The media tells you to wash your hands and avoid anyone with symptoms. I did. There is no way to avoid catching this except avoiding all other humans. 40% of folks were all sick within 3 days of attending the party all with the same/similar symptoms including fever.

Second, the symptoms appear to be different depending on your constitution and/or age. Most of my friends who got it were in their late 40s to early 50s. I’m in my mid 30s. For us it was headache, fever (for first 3 days consistently and then on and off after 3 days), severe body aches and joint pain, and severe fatigue. I had a fever that spiked the first night to 103 degrees and eventually came down to 100 and then low grade 99.5. Some folks had diarrhea.

I felt nauseous one day. Once the fever is gone some were left with nasal congestion, sore throat. Only a very few of us had a mild itchy cough. Very few had chest tightness or other respiratory symptoms. Total duration of illness was 10-16 days.

The main issue is that without reporting a cough or trouble breathing many of us were refused testing. I got tested through the Seattle Flu Study. This is a RESEARCH study here in Seattle and they have been testing volunteers for strains of the flu to study transmission within the community. A few weeks ago, they started to test a random subset of samples for COVID-19 infection. They sent my sample to the King County Public Health Department for confirmation; however, I was told that all of the samples that have tested positive in the research study have been confirmed by Public Health.

As of Monday March 9th, it has been 13 days since my symptoms started and more than 72 hours since my fever subsided. The King County Public Health Department is recommending you stay isolated for 7 days after the start of symptoms or 72 hours after your fever subsides. I have surpassed both deadlines so I am no longer isolating myself however I am avoiding strenuous activity and large crowds and I obviously will not come near you if I see you in public. I was not hospitalized. Not every country is hospitalizing everyone with a COVID-19 infection and in my case, and in many other cases, I didn’t even go to the doctor because I was recovering on my own and felt it was just a nasty flu strain different from the ones I have been protected from with this season’s flu vaccine.

I also truly believe the lack of testing is leading to folks believing that they just have a cold or something else going out into public and spreading it. And worse folks with no symptoms are also spreading it as in the case of a person attending a party or social gathering who has no symptoms.

I know some folks are thinking that this can’t/won’t impact them. I hope it doesn’t but I believe that the overall lack of early and pervasive testing damaged the public’s ability to avoid the illness here in Seattle. All I know is that Seattle has been severely impacted and although I’m better now I would not wish this very uncomfortable illness on anyone.

One thing that I believe may have saved me from getting worse respiratory symptoms is the fact that I consistently took Sudafed, used Afrin nasal spray (3 sprays in each nostril, 3 days at a time and then 3 days off), and used a Neti pot (with purified water). This could have kept my sinuses clear and prevented the symptoms from spreading to my lungs. This is not medical advice: I’m simply sharing what I did and correlating it with the fact that I had no respiratory symptoms. The two could be entirely unrelated based on the viral strain and viral load that I received.

I hope this information helps someone avoid getting sick and/or push to get tested sooner rather than later so you know to isolate before it gets worse or to get medical care if you have respiratory distress. Hand washing doesn’t guarantee you won’t get sick, especially when folks without symptoms are contagious and could be standing right next to you in any given social situation. You more likely than not will not die, but do you want to risk spreading it to a loved one over 60 or someone with an immunity issue? Stay healthy folks!

"Update March 11, 2020: Dear beloved clients:
Last Wednesday we decided to close for a week, as a precaution intended to protect both our beloved clients and our priceless ladies. We had hoped to reopen this week, but it is now clear that extending our closure for the remainder of the month is the right thing to do.
We hope and intend to reopen on or around April 1st. Please stay safe and healthy during these unusual times. The girls are looking forward to seeing you again when we can finally reopen."

Mugi,
Is this your story or are you posting a memoir of someone who got the virus?

Very good article on the current philosophy for the virus (although the original graph is mathematically incorrect as areas under the curse are not equal, the one in the subsequent link is correct)
