Hong Kong Tips
As I mentioned elsewhere, I didn't get to partake in any fun when I was in Asia recently. That doesn't mean my eyes weren't open to the available options. Here's a quick rundown of what I saw. A lot of it may overlap with the posts above, but I figured I'd give the thread a bump and at least confirm that some of it is still the same.
First of all, I got there and the local Time Out magazine had a cover story all about sex. The issue - which has articles posted online if interested - had stories about pornstars, happy endings and sex141, the big, out in the open monger board. It was hilarious to skim through this and see all the acronyms decoded out in the open. How fucking civilized.
First, a lot of folks spend most of their time in Central Hong Kong, which is like a combination of Midtown and downtown. It's where all the Western businesses are as well as a lot of the expat hangouts, bars, clubs and so on. There's not a lot there. I sneaked away one evening and tried to get a massage off the Lan Kwai Fong, the big bar strip figuring a MP around the corner from a bunch of bars has got to be a good place to get some.
When the girl came in, I asked her to strip and she wasn't willing. Mamasan came back in and told me that that would cost something ridiculous - just to get her clothes off - and then gave me a hard time when I said I was leaving.
Really, if you're looking for action, the most obvious place to go is Wan Chai, the home of girly bars galore. Went there with a friend and was amazed at how out in the open it all was. Most of the girls are Thai or Filipina and keep an eye out for the ladyboys, that's not a mistake you want to make. Go down to Lockhart Road in the middle of Wan Chai and you really can't not succeed in finding companionship.
That said, even if it had been an option for me, I suspect it wouldn't really be my scene.
Up in Kowloon, north of the more fancy shopping areas in TST, closer to Jordan Road or Mong Kok, there were many pretty blatant signs of activity from hawkers offering massage to signs for hotels by the hour.
Again, all this is general, but I know when visiting a new place, I like to have at least a heads up on what's available. Hope it helps someone.
