Chasing away the adversisers redux

What do the less than civil comments have to with "ladies expressing their views"?

Who here has ever tried to stop a "lady" from expressing her views?

The uncivil comments always seem to relate to advertising. That's not "views." That's promotion, nothing more. Many of the "ladies" who post here fail to ever express a single substantive "view". All they do is advertise. Why should anyone have any respect for advertising?

In my experience here, when "ladies" participate in actual substantive discussions, they get the same level of respect (which may be pretty low) as the "gentlemen".

.
a)Hence, most boards have two options. Become tolerant of the fact that females may hold and express their opinions and prosper or become "the boys club" and die.

Contrary to popular belief, once ladies leave a board .. discussions die out and it is usually the end of DISCUSSION boards.

b)As for Theatro, being somewhat familiar with ladies behind the spectacular event, I feel dissapointed at the reception Juls got on UG. This is one of very very few ladies who can put together spectacular events in ANY city of this country and the fact that she chose New York as october venue should be welcomed, not trashed.

a) Sorry, but this is total bullshit. UG was more successful when there were less webscorts posting. Go back and look. It's all in black and white. Perhaps the most chilling to discussion is women reading what is posted on UG or in private emails they get their hands on and then reaming the poster out backchannel.

Most of the truly "successful" boards (in terms of discussion) are private and NO ONE can see what is posted: how can you explain that, since they are TOTAL "boy's clubs". Over the years we have listened to MANY suggestions from the supply side to make UG a "friendlier place for women" and then more women would post: EVERY SINGLE TIME not only didn't it result in more women posting, even the women who made the suggestions did post more (if at all).

It is pretty damn clear the webscorts want 2 things from a forum: free advertising and anything negative about them removed. I remember getting an email from a provider who had come on UG, broke the rules by making 3 self promotional posts, had the posts removed and got banned. She didn't understand why this happened, and it was explained to her that she should read the rules and that ad posts were not allowed.

Her response was that the purpose of the boards was for free advertising for escorts.

b) This is also very annoying. She came on here, did not participate in any discussions, and simply placed an ad for her event. Whether you want to accept this or not, the FLAT FACT is that what she did was STEALING FROM UG... period. I'm sorry that when we catch someone in or house trying to make off with our flat panel TV, we don't sit them down and ask f they want a glass of sherry. If you want to run a board like that, go right ahead. But how many of he successful boards are started, run and paid for by escorts? Danger911 - that's a private provider's board so don't front with that. ASPD? Yes, but it's been up and down and gone thru SO MANY owners.... because when the providers actually see what running a board is like, they can't handle the work, complaints, etc. for the lack of compensation and give up.

Even apart from stealing from UG -- which, lets face it, UG Staff cares about more than many of the rest of us -- Juliet comes on here, never participates in a discussion, posts only a promotional post for her own economic self-benefit, and then people get pissed off when she gets a hard time? What do they expect? If you only use this board as a place to exploit for your own benefit, you're obviously gonna be treated roughly (that goes for johns as well as prostitutes).

That about sums up the whole problem with the escort board phenomenon in general. And I doubt anything we do is ever going to change it.
We could change it if we instituted a rule that prostitutes could only post under non-trade pseudonyms.

Of course, very few would post that way. But the few that would, would be invaluable.

if aliases were allowed on UG

I bet many ladies would post more, because their identities would be anon.

Many providers (me included) avoid to participate in discussions using our trading names because is bad for our business.

The good, steady clients, the ones lurking and using the boards just to be informed, are not interested in patronizing the ladies who are always posting over and over.

Ever wonder why these ladies have so much time in their hands? Because the good clients stay away from them. Loose lips, sinking ships...right?

The financially successful escorts seldom post on any board...they have a reason for not doing it.

Charlie Sheen said he paid Ho's to 'leave'...but I can guarantee you that the majority of our clients do pay us to forget about them soon they walk out of the door, to keep our mouths shut and respect their privacy.

I know you are being sarcastic...

Do it, Betty! Set up a separate anonymous account for posting your real feelings! I can't tell you how excited I'd be to hear them!
but hiding behind aliases is not my thing...whatever I have to say, I will under my name.

Unfortunately, English is not my first language, so I cannot write stuff that will be interesting for any of you to read, I am not at your level of eloquence.

But, other ladies could be welcome to participate under a different identity.

Betty, I have never been less sarcastic in my life. Never ever.

PS -- If English isn't your first language, I'm incredibly impressed. I'd never have guessed that from your posts.

a) I am quite sure jl was NOT being sarcastic.
b) It is allowed under the rules.
c) It's a great idea (I'd list women who have done it very successfully, but that would be sort of outing them).
d) The only thing which is REALLY forbidden is posting in the same thread with 2 ID's, or using 2 ID's in any way to support "yourself" or "gang up on" someone else.
