"Diary of a Call Girl" to air on Showtime soon

British blog-turned-book now turned TV series "Diary of a Call Girl" is scheduled to air on Showtime in June. You can watch the trailer here (is there any way to imbed a YouTube video in a UG post?):

A billboard featuring a skirt that blows up in the wind to reveal a lady's nearly naked bottom has caused a stir and may be pulled (unfortunately, the blog on which I read this didn't say where the billboard was). According to the report, drivers near the billboard failed to move when their traffic light turned green.

My prediction: the protagonist will look so much better than any prostitute any of us has ever seen working that it will sour us all on the show from the get-go.

Actually, did you watch the video? I thought she was surprisingly unattractive. Which is, in fact, more true to the blog. Don't know if you ever read it, but I always thought she wasn't so much of a looker as a clever girl with a great personality and a sense of street smarts that kept her out of trouble (the kind of serious trouble you can get into in this business).

Her name is Billie Piper. She's a british pop singer turned actress.

I watched the series as it aired on BBC. Kinda blah. Didn't do much for me.

I'm kind of looking forward to seeing it. The producers had contacted a lot of girls in the industry to get feedback, although the previews they had sent and all that wouldn't work properly so I was unable to view. Then they sent it in a text format... I'm hoping viewing it will be more fun than reading a synopsis of the movie.

PS....Tracy Quan's book "Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl" sucked.

I've seen Tracy Quan speak on panels and read some of her stuff (but not either of her two books themselves). As I've stated befrore on this forum, I have serious doubts as to the veracity of her story*. I think she's a jounalist/writer who interviewed working girls and compiled some stories from what she learned.

* I keep forgetting who it was, but she was dating a reasonably well known ?writer? ?editor? (?NY Times?) when the first one got published.

Her books are like badly written tv movies about "escorts".
Heidi Fleiss's movie "Call Me"(which is also a total different version of Heidi's book and somewhat crap too) had more depth than either of Tracy Quan's books. xox

I totally agree, I think she is a tourist and a fraud. She might have applied at some agencies, been interviewed and even hung out with some ladies but she was never a provider. I think she just glued it together along with other factual accounts she found elsewhere. I doubt she even saw a client, real providers find it in bad taste to kiss and tell. I would love her to be called out but our community is based on very private people and would never confront her on Primetime Live or 20/20.
