What is a french session?

Im new to this, less then a year, low volume and never heard of a french session until reading some of the boards. Could anyone kindly explain??

Sorry never seen Betty but than again don't get into the city much. I will say this if I had a week and a pocket full of money there are a few I would love to visit.
