The Client List

#1
Is anyone going to check out this movie tonight at 9:00 p.m.

Jennifer Love Hewitt plays a prostitute in the Lifetime movie 'The Client List', following in the footsteps of Tori Spelling, who starred in 'Co-ed Call Girl', a movie about a college student paying her tuition by becoming a prostitute.

The Client List Synopsis: Inspired by a true story, this Lifetime Original Movie is the story of Samantha Horton (Jennifer Love Hewitt), a former Texas homecoming queen and physical therapist. When both she and her husband, Rex (Teddy Sears), are laid off from their jobs, Samantha accepts an offer to work at a massage studio in a nearby town, not realizing that the other staff members are actually prostitutes who service a clientele of wealthy and powerful businessmen. Eventually realizing what goes on behind closed doors, but desperate to provide for her family, Samantha goes along for the ride. But when the police raid the business and Samantha is arrested, she ends up as a key witness in the case — putting high-profile johns in handcuffs and bringing a small Texas town to its knees.

This was talked about in the wrong section, thanks for bringing up here where it belongs.

I love Lifetime Television for Women aka The Victims Channel original movies, it's where these actresses get to really put on the hysteria and waterworks. They are always so hysterically melodramatic, the one with Judy Davis as Santa Kimes was just brilliant. I am sure they are going to exaggerate every unpleasant feature of the buisness to make this exploitation even more sensational. Speaking of Spelling will never get sick of Mother May I Sleep with Danger, one of the unintentionally funniest low budget made for TV flicks ever.

Fairemily,

I made a point of watching the movie. I thought it was awful. All the cliches in the world rolled into one--pretty Texas beauty queen, no money, no education, overbearing Mom, married to her high school sweetheart with no money, etc. So, of course, financial circumstances force her into moving from legit massage to a job with extras. First, she supports her kids, then she spends it on herself. Then come the drugs and a raid by LE. Moral of the story: don't try this at home, ladies.

The better movie would have been Jennifer Love Hewitt posting her own pictures on a high end web site and watching the calls come in from around the world. Her Mom (played by Cybil Sheppard, a great beauty in her own time and still an attractive lady) could have been her screener. But that story would have sent a different message.

I'll be cancelling my Lifetime channel soon.

What did you think?

I do like your idea better :)

I think when the civilian world tries to do our buisness they always get it wrong. I have rarely seen a moderately accurate portrayal of my life which is a good thing. When I heard it was Lifetime I knew for sure it would be a hunk of junk. Lifetime does get it right sometimes when they add comedy with true crime along with someone who can actually act.

I don't believe anyone outside of the buisness should attempt to write a story about it because it's going to be all speculation, Tracy Quan is a good example. The truth is most woman who had any type of successful longevity in the industry have too much respect for the opportunity to make a living with it to divulge how it really is, we like to keep some things secrect. Women who are really in the buisness for the long haul have to work twice as hard to protect their privacy then the average civilian woman, why would we go out of charater and do a tell all book.

Oh that was what the plot was about.

Jennifer played a convincing whore. I am sick and tired of these lifetime movies not showing black men like me "banging her trashy ass".

The REAL story is Jennifer does "massagy" ends up on dope. Her white husband leaves her, a black man moves in and she two more biracial kids. The wealthy Johns have no clue and THEN shit falls apart for her. (Lose her kids, end up in trailer park or run motel with homosexuals and weirdos and continue her drug abuse).

What is so hard about that???????

You know what I am going to write them today.

(Waving at Fairemily) Oh yea UG you dropped the ball making Billy "I bring flowers to hookers" a moderator. That is like rehiring Elliot Spitzer to overlook the "prostitution stings in New York". Just not a good idea.

Good day.

Hey Irv (waving back)

Lol, I like your version also but I think too risky for Lifetime, maybe the Movie Channel will pick it up.

You guys always have a beef with each other and I like you, Ozzy and Billy so I just stay out of it, you have to sometimes just let it go. Being a mod is a thankless job, I think we all need to cut the ones who volunteer their time a lot of slack.

I wish Elliot Spitzer was back, he would do a much better job then the joker in the seat now.

Take care Irv :)

LOL Fairemily

I think testosterone is good for UG. It keeps people sharp. Me and Billy going at it for damn years now. (subtle shots here and there).

I am surprised Billy is a moderator. But Billy has been a solid contributor. I can't knock him for the hard work he puts in. Heavy is the moderator crown who wears it (Smiling).

LOL Movie Channel Fairemily. LOL I would watch it, if they had the balls to do it.

Elliot Spitzer back after being humbled by his romps with hookers. Yea I want the current Elliot but not the previous one.

Fairemily you know the biggest LAW AND ORDER guys that pick on hookers frequent them all the time.

I knew Elliot was with hookers way before his career collapsed. He was just obsessed with them.

In Florida, they are not so much GUNG HO about getting women here. The cops actually try to protect them from "criminals" because they get robbed or beat up here.

Providers do well in Florida because of so many tourists and the police got better things to do.

Ozzy Billy and other hobbyists are like countries. Sometimes you go to "War" with each other and then "things cool off".

Hey Irv,

Have you seen the Movie Channel Originals, they make your idea look tame. I love Gravity, I think Eric Shaffer is definitely a hobbyist. That would be a show I would watch, the escapades of a celebrity client.

Maybe you and Billy will never find a middle ground but I hope it doesn't ever escalate into something really ugly. You are both two strong personalities, clashes will happen. You guys are like countries, independent and stand your ground but you also have to try to get along.

I want a humbled Elliot Spritzer back, other countries think we are so stupid to get rid of good politicians for sex scandals. I know the biggest advocates against the biz are the biggest hobbyists, that's why they oppose us publicly, they are throwing their weight to make sure nobody talks.

It's weird how some states are so anti prostitution and other states don't consider it a big deal.

Eric Shaffer is a hobbyist. Have you read his book?
Seen his show "Why am I still single?"
Its starts with him in pretty crazy situation with a Dom.......freaking hilarious.
It's def worth checking out guys. The man is one of the only working actors I know that lays his life out for the world to see.

I wonder if he is a member, that would be awesome. I have not read his book or seen his reality show but I like his sense of humor. I can just tell by his screenwriting he is not a stranger to the buisness, I never looked into it, I guess my instincts were right on. I was mistaken his show Gravity which is brilliant was on Starz not the Movie Channel (heard it was canceled, I am very disappointed). I also like his other show Starved and some (not all) of his movies. He is a great at writing 1/2 hour shows, his sense of humor is selective, it's not boring mainstream but if you get it it's laugh out loud funny. I hope Gravity gets picked up by another network, it deserves a second season.

Hey Em,
I liked Irv's version too! That movie sucked eggs badly! It was really off! I ended up switching channels and then switching back to see the ending. She said she did it for her family--yet when she made enough money she kept doing it--then the husband gets pissed because she was banging all of those men--when they were about to be homeless! Yes he was right to be angry but he was very selfish and forgot that he helped put them in the situation that they were in from the get go! She saved their family! Ur right it was written by someone who was not familiar with the adult world!

Ok now back to TRUE BLOOD! Which is off the charts this season. OMG! That crazy Vampire fucker who is dragging Tara around tied up and telling her that he loves her and that she is going to be his vampire wife! LOL!
OOOPs wrong thread:)

LOL Superwoman.

I think the best movie I ever saw was "Leaving Las Vegas" with Nicholas Cage as a drunk who befriends a prostitute. That was so "real" to me.

For those who haven't seen that movie. Basically she is a Las Vegas escort and she got a pimp. Apparently the abusive pimp gets killed and she keeps running into Nicholas Cage drunk ass. I guess she takes a "liking to him". But he wants to drink "his life away".

In the course of the movie she does not stop street walking. But she gets beat up and raped. I guess Nicholas Cage sees her really at her "lowest point". It drives him to drink "more". I won't reveal the ending. This is "reality" not that Lifetime movie crap.

There is no morality to it. It just "the way it is". For the record Nicholas drinks so much because his wife left him with their baby and he got fired with "pay". His life was falling apart.

Two destructive people, thinking they are "going somewhere in a relationship". Excellent movie.

Hey Fairemily, I don't got a problem with Billy anymore. From my understanding he is doing well Moderating. Players tend to dislike the "referee's" calls on some things.

Yea, the so called moral police politicians are the biggest recipient of providers. The funny thing is many of them sleep with their "interns". But nobody knocks those girls because allegedly, they do it for "free".

Elliot was just reckless, paying with credit cards and etc. I would have had a close friend get the girls but never use my own credit card. The same crap Tiger Woods did, except he gave the hos the impression they could be together. Instead of saying "look this just a money thing girl don't call the house". He made a porn star quit her "job" as she put it. That must be some "strong "Wood". They don't call him Tiger "Woods" for nothing. When you are "breaking the back of providing" you got a serious sex addiction. The providers was like " I will pass on Tiger wowee my vagina can't take it". AMAZING!

From my years in the game, Providers are vulnerable like any "other women". They can taking a "liking to a man" and forget he is just a hobbyist. It rarely happens, but it happens.

Fairemily,

Glad you liked my re-write of the screenplay. I may have to use this as the excuse to see you. Maybe we could watch TV together, in addition to other activities? :)

FYI, the ratings for the JLH movie were 3.9 million viewers, according to one of the NYC papers, making it one of the highest rated cable movies this year. With numbers like that, TV writers and producers will continue to pump out similar product. Off the top of my head, here's a list of shows that have had similar story lines:

Mad Men (set in the '60s) has made reference to party girls and featured hotel meetings;

West Wing had the full time law student/part time high end escort (Page Six of the NY Post reported of a possible relationship between one of the show's principals and a real life escort);

The Sopranos had a high end incall mansion raided in one episode (inspired by a real case in NJ, IIRC), plus incall at a local motel; and

Every crime show has had the dead stripper/escort episode, usually some college girl from the Midwest who was leading a double life.

I won't mention the GFE movie (because it was so bad), that Secret Life of a Call Girl show on cable or Hung on HBO because I haven't seen them, but I know they are out there. I have to believe that some of the people behind these projects have had real experiences with the hobby, mainly on the client end.

This stuff may or may not be accurate, depending on your point of view, but it sells. That means we will see more of it.

I watched it tonight, made me cry...Im turning into one hell of a mush in my old age but shit most of us got into it cause we needed money, thn stuck around cause the money was addicting, I skipped the drug part though... I kinda found some aspects of the movie to be pretty accurate...although I doubt my clients wives would come to me for sex lessons, it was shitty watching how the fall out to my kids or family could be .....thats my 1 cent (not worth 2;)) but cant exactly sit around w/ the GFs talking about what I though so came here....sweet dreams everyone (miss you Emily)....xox

Hey TBND,

Sex sells, we all know that phone sex, strippers, prostitution, SMBD - the raunchier the better. The problem is if you don't care about the characters it doesn't matter what kind of situation you put them in, we still have to connect with the humanity otherwise it's just porn. Often the writers make it too depressing, I like to see a little light hearted situation comedy to soften things up. The civilan world looks at us as unfortunate but can't get enough of wondering what our world is like. I guess until everyone is on our end we will never stop seeing altered perceptions of our world on the TV and silver screen.

All the best,

Emily

Hey Irv,

I did not like Leaving Las Vegas, I was looking for the razorblades after watching it. It's just too depressing, Mike Figgis is known for his gritty dramas and LLV was as good as he got, he also made another anal sex reference in another film, I guess he is into it. I like Klute much better (one of my ATF movies), still very real and scary but took less cheap shock shots like anal frat boy gang rape and the cab scene which followed was just too hardcore for me. I prefer the scene in Klute when Jane Fonda is in that 70's out party of John and Hookers and goes up to her pimp Roy Scheider and he doesn't know whether to kiss her for coming back or punch her for leaving. She just sits below him and he messes up her hair and puts his hand on her head, there was not word but the expression and actions told their whole story. We knew he had a psychological hold over her and it wasn't going to be easy to leave. The whole movie is genius, Alan J Paulka who also did Sophie's Choice was a brilliant director.

Dear Fairemily

I just remembered that scene. That rape scene with the frats. I kind of blocked it out. That was depressing. I thought of the humiliation of the whole thing.

Yea Leaving Las Vegas is depressing but that is the reality. That movie is almost close as your going to get to the "lifestyle". There were happy moments in the movie but the underlying theme is the self destructive nature people indulge in.

That Jane Fonda movie was good. I thought about the movie about the Female Florida serial killer in Florida that killed her johns. I thought was a pretty good movie. Plus it is based off a true story.

My only problem with these type of movies. They tend to portray johns like they are "Jeffery Dhamer types or fat guys with thick glasses lol".

That kind of bothers me. The media just fails to realize if you been a hobbyist for years. There is a certain art of making things happen consistently with a provider.

Anyway, I just want to point out not all hobbyists are fat men with thick glasses and dress like we are back in the 1970s. LOL
