I know things are bad in the business because over the last month I've had a dozen girls ask me (and I've gotten) work for at new places. Let's see if a single one actually does anything for me in return.
I go every week to a place on Roosey (Flushing) every Sunday for my regular top notch massage with extras at the finish (I know the girl for at least 6 years). During the massage, in the past during my hour, I would hear other girls escorting their customers to nearby rooms. Last 2 months
not a single occurrence of this. I asked my girl how is business and she said very slow.
When I walk out to pay at the counter, walking by other rooms perhaps 3 or 4 would have doors closed, i.e., girls with customers, — now it is not uncommon that I'm the only customer there as all the doors are open with rooms empty.
After my massage I would head up to Main St for some food shopping. the prices and freshness can not be beat on LI. If you want fish, the fish are literally flapping in the bins of ice. Further N a couple of blocks if you want fresh poultry or meat you point to the animal you want, they kill, clean and package for you.
Anyway, (sorry, I digressed from the threads subject) during my walk down main girls I have seen before would walk up to me grab my arm and try to entice me to accompany them. This is new — in the past I would just get a nod from them, i.e., if it wasn't me another customer would come by. One girl said that she has been out for 5 hours w/o a customer. Ones that I would only see by appointment (and then would only have a couple of time slots open to pick from) are now outside their place soliciting.
Clearly these providers are in trouble; not only are they getting much fewer customers but the initial offering price (from new girls that don't know me — and there are now a lot more of them) they offer are markedly lower than they were just 6 months ago.
I don't feel the effects of a shrinking economy (my mongering is, and always has been) limited not by income but cash flow — and alas now my increasing age).
Actually in todays economy it is getting easier to hide my discretionary cash as I and my SO pay a lot more expenses in cash (auto repairs, landscaping, house cleaner, restaurants, etc in cash with corresponding discounts) and my mongering $ is a smaller percentage of cash expenditures.
