Police yesterday were looking for the massage-parlor operators accused of profiting from prostitution in the two businesses.
The parlors raided yesterday were making a few thousand dollars a day from male customers who paid $60 for a massage, and then paid the woman another fee for sex, police said.
Though each business worked independently, operators of both establishments employed numerous Asian women who lived outside the county, deciding how many to send to Spring Valley based on the volume of clients.
Each operator drove the women up to the parlors and then drove them home each day, police said.
During the midafternoon raid, police detained two men who paid for sex with women, but did not charge the men because they cooperated in the investigation. (what would you do?)
One of the parlor managers later told police she did not know the other two women arrested, but she had picked them up at a specific site in New York City. (kinda like the day laborers in every town the landscapers use)
