How to get free ultra-high speed internet

#1
I turned on the wireless network adaptor, found and unsecured wireless network in my apartment bldg., and now get free ultra-high speed internet. 8.00-9.35 mbps.

Has anyone else ever done this?

Used to for slower wireless connections. Not intentionally, but welcomed the "intrusion". Worked for a few weeks then stopped. I think when I was downloading too much porn. (Joking, I don't know whether he/she noticed what sites I was watching.) Finally he/she secured it and I went and bought my own.

This is similar at most apt bldgs. Some ppl just don't care. But just be careful not to use sensitive/confidential info. like cc/ssn... as you said it's unsecured so as the data goes thru it.

Yes, but who has an internet connection running at almost 9 mbps? That like 7 times faster then a T1 connection. My computer is hidden behind a good firewall. I guess that if I have to do any on-line banking, I'll plug my cable modem back in.

I reset my network location setting from private to public setting. Public setting is more secure as my computer is made invisible even without a firewall hiding my ports. It seems I managed to tape into a wireless T3 Optimum Online main internet gate, not someones private wireless network, I know this as the Linksys gateway is running at 54 mbps! This is real kick-ass speed!

If my computer didn't have sensitive information on it, I would use this connection all the time. I guess Optimum Online realizes this and that's why did don't bother securing it with a WEP2 Pass Word for non-subscribers.

When I was using Optimum Online my down-link speed was frequently over 12Mps. Up-link approached 2Mps. I've got this dinky backwater provider now that gives me just under 5Mps down-link but only a very paltry 360kps up-link. [totally blows by comparison]

My business link is a T1 and I have 1.5 Mbs synchronous.

If my provider doesn't take the governors off and raise the up-link speed I'm going to do it myself with a hacked Moterola.

I have MDU (Multiple Dwelling Units, original huh!) cable provider, I get free basic cable with ESPN and HBO. For $29 per month I get cable internet, but with down load speeds of 1.1 mbps. Much slower then yours, but I bet you pay close to $50/month, so I guess you get what you pay for.
