I have a reciprocating saw and yes it emits less of a "sawing sound" than my circular saw (although in this case most of the sound from the circular saw would be from the bearing and now the cutting) but IMHO in many of the low end motels I'm pretty sure I would be able to hear either in action. If I were going to cut someone up to fit in a suitcase a sharp knife would work just fine cutting off the limbs as one only needs cut thru skin and some muscle and tendons at the joints.
Ps. I enjoyed seeing that you clarified the names of the tools by listing the proprietary (or trademarked) names vs the generic names. I'm a stickler for such and will now fry up a couple of eggs in my Teflon coated (opps —I mean polytetrafluoroethylene coated ) skillet.

I was looking through ads, searched the word "elmhurst" and saw heidi weis' old ad. The escort tied to the murder is indeed her, as the ad pics match and she has the same triangle necklace like the pics in the dailynews page.

They probably already talked to him earlier in the case. They both used their personal phones and he was on camera using the victims CC after she texted him what to get. Plus he doesn't look like he would have a passport or the new ID card to leave the country. The LE team didn't have to be a bunch of Kojaks and Columbo's to close this case. I've seen better cases on law and order. Lol.
