Sorry to burst your bubble, but California if a very liberal state from a legal perspective. If this case reaches the Federal courts, which is pretty likely, the case would most likely be decided in the state's favor. Assuming, of course, the district court and/or the 9th circuit defer to the Supreme Court's prior rulings on this type of activity, which is not always the case.
