Another place I have been going to lately is 212 on E 65th betw Park & Lex. It bills itself as a vodka bar and certainly has lots it. The food is mediocre and the service is barely acceptable but it is a lively crowd. I've met some interesting people there, and it has a late night crowd (unusual in that neighborhood).
Some people might say this place is pretty hip - I would agree to an extent. At least it is not as crowded and snobby as some of the "in" places.
