2025 New York Yankees

I don’t think potentially they are strong, I think they are a strong team. They will make a trade for a really good pitcher at the trade deadline, and I think they are good.

I think a lot depends on how the young guys come along.
Volpe, Wells, Domiquez and Rice.

In the post season Volpe was the player the Yankees had in mind when the drafted him and the way he hit in the minors.
Wells hit well last year but just hit a wall at the end of the season.

Oh, and The Martian has been playing an excellent left field the last half of spring training. He really worked his butt off to be a better left fielders.

I am hopeful the kids can contribute. Love Bellinger, loves being a Yankee. Dominguez has looked great as well. Wells looks primed for 30 hr season. Jazz is 30/30 in his sleep. Goldy is refreshed and hits 25 hr and 260. That said their pitching is very shaky. Warren has come back down to earth last few spring starts. Carrasco has an era over 6 his last 3 years. Stroman cant get thru a lineup more than twice, lot of hard contact off him. Rodon is Rodon, he is the Forrest Gump box of chocolates of baseball...."you never know what your gana get" Fried is not an ace, he is the perfect number two. I also don't know abt their bullpen sans Williams. Weaver I think is a flash in the pan.

2025 NY YANKEES
88-74
2nd place in AL EAST

If 2nd place got them into the playoffs, I guess you would take it.

Lots of questions. BUT - you have to look at them in comparison to the rest of the AL. They are better than the rest. Yanks win the AL East. The rest is a crap shoot.
Every team in baseball has questions. The AL isn’t as good as it has been so if the Yanks have a little down year, this is the year to do it. I don’t think any team is better than the Yanks, maybe as good but not better. I think the Yanks still win the division with Boston a close 2nd.

I think Boston is way overrated. They will hover around 500. Baltimore is the most likely team to compete against the Yankees.
For once - I would like to see a Yankee phenom position player step up. Dominguez can be that guy. You can hold this against me - but I am going to call it now! Dominguez will have a great year! 274 avg 33 HR 100 RBI! He will also play a solid LF!!!

LETS GO YANKEES!!!!

Did you guys hear the music they played during player introductions???? Holy crap was that awful!!! George must have been spinning in his grave.

Not sure what to make of this team; losing Cole for the season sucks. I think picking up bellinger and Goldschmidt makes up for losing Soto.

but then again what do I know… heard the starting lineup today and couldn’t help but think Austin Wells leading off what is Boone thinking!
Off to a good start at least.

I was working so I didn't get to see the pregame intros.
What music were they playing?
Also, did Stanton, Cole, Gil and/or DJ lineup with the team?

New age stat based thinking.
They are not going to have someone run with Judge up anyway. You want men on base when he does damage.
Wells has a good eye and sees a lot of pitches which means Judge sees what the pitcher is throwing
He has decent power so pitchers can't just groove a strike

You said you thought Boston was overrated? How about Rafael Devers, starting 0 for 19 with 15 Strikeouts. I read one of the worse starts in history. If this continues, Steve, you will certainly be right.
Yanks off to some start, that’s for sure.

It's curious why Boston gave Devers a big contract but traded Mookie Betts for nothing to the Dodgers. They also let Bogarts walk.

Warren shit the bed yesterday, I am sure that means plenty more of Stroman going forward.
DJ going on a rehab assignment in a few days, I guess he platoons with Cabrerra and Reyes goes down - until DJ gets hurt again.
Grisham growing on me a little, I mean he is smooth as velvet in the outfield no doubt, but homie is hitting a little. I am sure I will say he sucks in 6 weeks, but for now I will take it.

Still don't know how I feel about this team in general, like I don't trust them.

Wells n Belly need to get going a little.
