Besides, you want give this guy a 12 year contract before he plays a game in New York?

I'd give them three or four mid level prospects plus Schmidt. That should get it done.
I'd keep Dominguez and Spencer Jones out of the package but anyone else is fair game.

Probably not 12 years but he is only 25 plays all the time. A lefty! Solid player with solid numbers.Don't think four mid level prospects are gonna get it done...we shall see.

Big gamble to trade for him and not sign him. I would love for them to do it but you have to go to Hal and say “if I trade for him, will you actually pony up the money to sign him long term? Either now or after he becomes a free agent?”

So the deep dive into their failures of 2023 can only come up with the need to practice bunting more often. 2024 doesn't look good.
