worse night of poker played in my life.

last night i was at ceasers. im usually a foxwoods guy but my buddies wanted to go to AC because of the options aside from gambling. so i guy in for $100 at the 1-2 table. i think i have been playing some VERY solid poker lately. for the past 2 weeks i am up $500.

a few hands in i play 4/5 off on the button. the flop is 3-3-4. nothing special checks all around and i have a pair. on the turn a J hits checks again. so i bet to get people who are chasing off $10. one guys calls. i put him on J's or chasing an A. the river is a 7. he bets $20 i raise $40 and he calls. he shows trip 3's. i played it wrong with a very weak pair. after a few stabs at some pots i have to re-buy for $100.

so my first good hand i go all in with with $80 with A/J off with this guy calling me with A/7 off. i dont catch anything on the board and he hits a 7 on the turn. im a little burnt because he would call with A rag but that was the type of table i was at.

a few more hands in i get K/6 suited and i get a pair on the board. a guy that has been playing very tight bets as if he has triped the board, BTW last night the board was giving out sets ALOT. so im leary about that and i muck the pair but the cards flip over. one guy at the table said dude you mucked a pair? i said i just didnt have a good feeling about the hand. *later in the night i aksed the guy if i had on that muck and he said yeah he only had a pair*

so i was down $200 and $70 on the table. i tighten up and play paint with high kickers. my first big pot i i get a full house on the turn while someone hits a straight on the river. i go all-in after a guy raises my $20 bet to $40. after taking a few pots i am now up $200. this is after 4 hours of playing

i stick around. i normally play 5 hours top in a casino but this time i played to 9:00am. i start to play too loose and lose my stack and get down $200. i dont know what i was thinking but i should have called it a night after i recovered my buy in and was up.

along with a bunch of sloppy calls and chasing pots i just didnt keep it together like i normally do..

thanks for listening......

part duex

im at a poker room last night in preparation for my trip to vegas to see if i can shake my last outing at a poke table. first off i was tired from work and a lil down in the shits because of some personal things. two reasons why i should not have played. but i say to myself im only going to play $100 to get registered at this place to get a feel for the room.

i sit down at the table and get a pair of 7's immediately i win a modest pot and a guy says "hey u sit down and start winning " i respond that is not necessarily a good thing. and it wasnt this night. i know i was tired because i wasnt reading any players and just my hand. any good poker player is supposed to read the board first then the players and finally their own hand. again i was tired and did not have my senses about me.

i play and get K/6 off i get in the pot and call a guy who raised to $15 on the board....i forget what the river was but i know i lost with an all in with a pair of K's. now in my right mind i should have not went in all in with a pair of kings but i did anyway.

on one of my final hands (after playing tight for an hour) i go all in on the river with K/6 whille the board was reading J-J-6-K-6. im thinking i have the house but a guy calls me immediately and has j/8 off and has a bigger boat with the J's peddling. i dont think that was a bad call because he didnt bet on the flop like he had a J in his hand. but that is the way the ball bounces. so as of now i am down $400 between my AC trip and at the poker room. a modest amount but still at my worse stretch of poker.

So you complain about someone calling you with a A/7 but go all in yourself with a K/6?

Everybody has a combo that they play even when they shouldn't. I always play 6-9 suited, at least for the flop. Doesn't make any sense but there it is. (the first card I see has to be six BTW)

A lot of people have a problem getting away from Big Lick.

And lately it's become fashionable to raise with 72 for no good reason.

KC I have told you time and time again to tighten up your play from the beginning!! (Not once you've lost big bets on on a limb) When you get back ... come to my room Im gonna rip your chips right outta your hand. I hope you come over and play every K/6 and 3/4 u get your hands on ... Im sure to do better hanging out with you then trying to get a $300 an hour date ... ha ...If you come back from Vegas crying Im not gonna give you what I promised (wink-wink) ... Tighten up and stop playing cards under 8 unless your playing at a table that is as tight as a VIRGIN !!

and now im thinking of only playing in tournaments only because i like the style of play A LOT better. each tourney i have played in live so far i have had some good results. cash games may not be for me.
