UG Down?

#1
It looks like UG had been down for about 2 days starting sometime Wednesday. When I tried to navigate to the site, I got nothing. Then yesterday I could get to main site but not past the first page (to get to forums). This happened at the end of May as well. Any particular reason? And if it happens it there any contact info to send an email? I’m sure Slinky knew when it went down but just some way to give a head up in case he doesn’t know?

Yes, most months this summer, I encounter a couple of 18+ hour blackouts on this site where the server doesn't respond, and I get a generic HTTP error. Not sure if it the site itself or some firewall or routing infrastructure falling down.

I see a lot of error messages when selecting a particular thread:
Oops! We ran into some problems.
A server error occurred. Please try again later.

The site has been up much more than it has been down. However the only thing that matters for an individual is that it's up when they need it so this has not been acceptable. It seems like it presents itself as server issues, however there are no errors logged or downtime shown on the server, which makes it very hard to diagnose. Since our tech team has been unable to solve the issue I spend time looking for a server expert which I found and should be working on this problem very soon. I'm hoping this gets resolved by the middle of the week.

Note: if you do a post or reply to a post and get a SERVER ERROR (or whatever it is called) YOUR action has happenene.
IF you repeat because you think it hasn't happened you will be posting duplicate post each time.

My unique error is that, I can log into the site, and then every page won't load. Just the very top menu screen. Almost as if the section after </header> has a broken/ missing tag or uneven tag.

And that if I try the up or down for everyone web checks, it states it's down for everyone not just me

Interesting that on another whoreboard, starting at around the same time, similar server error messages came up. Their problem seems to be resolved as of today.

I first thought it was a DNS attack/hosting issue/web balancing issue but after the initial conspiracy theories ran through a few rational tests, I just realized it was better to set up a 'Downdetector' checker, and carry on with my day. Hope it gets resolved.
