The Smiths; and other musical favorites and opinions of aging mongers

His best work was with the Smiths, even Morrissey wasn’t the same after they split up even though he had success.
I have never been a fan of Moz. He’s got an intriguing voice and writes good lyrics, but he doesn’t give the music enough space to breath; he sings over everything. I used to say that the Smiths were at their best when Morrissey shut up.

That said, I agree that Marr’s best composition work is with the Smiths. Although the first Electronic album is probably my favorite with him on it. Full disclosure: I am a massive New Order fan.

Marr or Morrissey?

I know, I know. I've had tickets for the Meriweather show since they went on sale. I think in 2019? My wife and I have a dead pool for the remaining New Order members and the Pet Shop Boys.

God save the queen, it's the, the Smiths album imho
I think you want the first part of that couplet...

TQiD is hard to argue with, but I always liked Hatfull of Hallow, even if it's technically a compilation.

He probably will cancel.
He’s bailed on many shows.
He’s a diva.
I’m a big new order fan as well going back to their joy Division days

I saw Blondie in a West Virginia casino (don’t ask). They did Parallel Lines as one set. I was amazed at how much they still rocked. One of the weirdest venues I’ve ever been in, though.
