Car dates, loved them when i was 17 still love 'em 30 years later.
Funny thing is that i wasn't paranoid about being caught, and at 17 not really understanding what looks odd and makes it easier for random patrol cop going "hmmm, that looks odd" i was investigated lots of times, and the girls scrambling to get dressed and back then it was purely girlfriend hookups after work. I wasn't forced into the world of mongering, back then young and plenty of girls worked in my favor... no wife saying "not tonight, is that all you ever think of" for 50 days in a row and still counting.
Mongering for just over 2 years now, due to the no/low libido wife disease forcing me into it. Now i suffer occasional bouts of paranoia about being caught and the fear is not a fear of a cop checking the situation out or a ticket but the wife finding out in the fallout.
To lower the paranoia threshold, I use the hide in plain sight method. It also helps to drive larger vehicles, I have a yukon xl denali with dark tint windows, hopping in the middle row for the bbbj and the third row for fs services plenty of room.
Park in an area with fewer cars nearby, less worries about random people walking by, but also don't be the only vehicle all by itself in a mostly full lot- it stands out and can draw attention.
I love arranging meetups in the LIRR commuter lots for when my train arrives (park near the wooded areas, or between to larger vehicles) i also park in the garage as well. My fellow commuters are all too busy trying to get to their cars/ home to pay any mind to other cars or people. And the cops don't patrol looking for activity in the rush hours, midday stay away!
Bonus: It provides a built in excuse to the wife, "my train is delayed" or "I saw john on the way to the car, we chatted for a bit" both of which are always good for an extra half hour or more.
Costco's/ Sam's club, Home Depot, Wal*Mart, other high trafficked "box" stores.. people are more interested in going about their business than peering into cars.
My favs: The Centereach Wal*Mart and Selden Home Depot, and Patchogue ShopRite are all great spots plenty of lot spaces sprawled out, with high vehicle traffick but long shopping times so that cars don't stand out to the employees.
The big chain hotels, offer great "free" amenity to all travelers in the day light hours, no hassle parking lots hardly any actual people walking to/ from cars. Just park at least 5 spaces away from all the other cars, it looks like your a late riser/ check out.
Industrial zones/parks, especially ones with auto shops in them. Older cars parked nearby even in the street don't look odd or out of place. With little drive through traffick it's easy to spot at distances other cars(police) that are trolling or could happen upon you. Many of these areas are under camera surveillance, but I've recieved no visits, or mail from any of these places or even an officer visit, .so they either only look at the cameras if theirs an issue, or they watch the truck bounce and know what's going on but not much they can do with that info. The Holbrook/ Ronkonkoma area has lots of these spots.
Finally "new construction", if you have a truck that looks like Contractors truck, parking near the areas of safe as well. Again your car won't stand out as out of place and won't draw attention. The Ronkonkoma Hub project is a good spot.
