R. I. P.

Probably the hottest film scene in the 1960's.

As a 30-foot-tall woman, Harmon found Johnny Crawford hanging from her bikini top in Village of the Giants (1965) . Alas they didn't show her topless. Imagine her tits as a 30 ft woman DDDDDDDD's ?

BTW, she was boon in Flushing in 1940. what a change neighborhood since then.
Allison Hayes, another sexy lady played in "The Attack of the 50 Ft Woman".

I guess if you are featuring a giant woman in your movie, she gotta be sexy.

John Sterling, the radio voice of the New York Yankees for 36 seasons, has died. He was 87. Known for his signature "The Yankees win!" victory call and his personalized home run calls, Sterling spent his last 20 seasons with the Yankees working alongside Suzyn Waldman.

Sterling joined the Yankees' broadcast in 1989, calling 5,420 regular-season games and 211 postseason games before retiring in April 2024. The native New Yorker was in the booth for 5,060 consecutive games from September 1989 to July 2019, when he missed a series with an illness.

Towards the end of his career, you could see hear he was beginning to struggle with the calls, but he always brought the enthusiasm.

I still miss hearing the Scooter, even when he'd leave the park early to beat the traffic back to NJ. And Bobby Murcer was another great player and announcer, too.

Wow, the end of an era. There was a time at the end of his career I was getting annoyed with him because his calls were all over the place and hard to follow.
But he seemed to straighten out a little the last few years maybe he got glasses or relied on the monitor more.

But he will remain iconic and forever attached to the great Dynasty teams of the mid to late 90's.

I would shut the sound off the network broadcast and listen to him and Kay on the radio.

Also a part of my youth as he had a radio show on WMCA back in the mid 70's before talk radio was a thing. Taking calls and then calling people an idiot when they would suggest trades like Fred Stanley and Rick Dempsey for Caesar Cedno.

The best was during the Winter Meetings when they really meant something before Free Agency, and he's check in with Phil Pepe reporting from the meetings on all the latest rumors

RIP John

I loved John Sterling! Whenever they got a new player I always wondered what their home run call would be. One of my favorites and lesser known calls - Kyle Higashioka! The home run stroka! He will be missed.
The Yankees did a beautiful tribute before the game today.

I liked Sterling and Kaye not just for their analysis, but their voices had a very nice contrast to one another. I didn't like listening to Sterling and Steiner because their voices sounded too similar to my ears, and Sterling and Waldman were damn near unlistenable because I just didn't like Suzyn's voice, regardless of how knowledgeable she was.

I never thought of it like that, reading this I have to agree.
Suzyn always sounds like she has a dick in her mouth or she is gargling a fresh load.
Steiner had a great voice but was just too generic.
