I would like to ask questions in the correct forum but it seems I cannot post anything. Nor did I get a comfirmation email.

You can post anywhere. But, as Duckman says, there are rules about what one can post and where and you really should read the rules. If you want to adverise yourself as an independent take a look at the main page for a section for folks like you to "advertise". By the way, if you are the Blair I know whom I have met in a few different circumstances, you will do very well here.
