I'm at the Taj this weekend...
Before I get to the "Rounders" moment...i want to tell you all this..this has never happend to me before..was the ultimate in getting "lucky"...
I decide to take an Academy bus from Cheesequake to AC...I drive to the rest stop..pay my 26 bucks...I catch an 8pm bus and since I knew I was probably gonna be up all night I didn't wanna drive home so the bus was the way to go..I can snooze on the bus ride home..anyway, get to Taj...get 17 back...I take the 10 dollar bill..go to a slot...turn the 10 into 60 on a slot machine...cash out the 60 and go to a $10 crap table...i walk into a hot roll and turn my 60 into 240...woohoo! I put a hundred back on a Blackjack table..I'm still up 140! Not bad from 10 bucks that wasn't even mine! I have not taken 1 PENNY out out of my pocket!
Ok I I hit the poker room..sit down at a 1/2 NL table with my 140...plenty of action! Within an hour I'm up another 300...these people were just GIVING me thier money..paying me off almost every hand I made..it was almost ridiculous. I busted 3 people who were somewhat short stacked on the table...one guy I busted him twice...he would have AQ, I would have AK and the Ace would hit the flop..he would bet out..I would call..it was just awesome..
Ok Rounders hand...
I have about 450-500 in front of me...I'm in middle positiion..I get Q-10 off..limp in...guy 3 seats to my left raises to 12..1 caller behind him...button calls...BB calls..I call..Flop comes A K J rainbow!!! I flopped the nut straight! Its checked to me..I check..raiser bets 20...everyone folds to me..I pause..(for effect..I'm in acting mode at this point lol) then call the 20...turn comes 7D...I want to see where he is at - and also make him think I may have hit a set on the turn..so I bet 20...he raises to 120...I know he has a set...I call..river is a duece of clubs! I have the stone cold nuts...I check...he bets another 100...I push all in for a little over 300 more..he calls without blinking an eye! He turns over JJ and I turn over my Q 10 and take down over a $900 pot..at which he point the guy I just busted almost runs away STEAMING..I think he threw something too...I turned 10 bucks into just under 1000...and the 10 wasn't even mine lol...
Another interesting hand prior to that one...I have pocket 10's UTG. I make a very aggressive raise to 20 pre flop...2 seats down calls...button calls..BB calls. everyone else folds...flop comes 9 5 2 rainbow...BB checks..I make a big bet of 100 thinking I'm in good shape... guy to my left pushes all in for 250...everyone folds to me..now I'm in a predicament...the guy has not raised or called any raises without having paint cards in his hand...not once have I seen him play a middle pair...was he trying to push me out? Fucking 10's....lol...I think about it for a few...I turn over my 10's and lay it down...he shows me QQ...he says he put me on JJ...says he didn't have to raise since I did it for him...which is true..I overplayed pocket 10's I guess...
Taj on the weekends just has friggin ATM machines sitting at the tables...lol...play the cards right - be VERY patient...and more then likely you'll come away a winner..
