As a disillusioned.....yet diehard Yankees fan I don't mind if something good happens on the other side of town. Hey, billyS...long time no hear. Nice to hear from you as well.

The only reason the Mets signed Howe was because he was FREE! The A's asked for no compensation from the mighty Mets...... WHY?

(the Mariners btw wanted this young phenom shortstop in the Mets system (and rey-rey's replacement in '04) in exchange for Piniella.)


So Dusty Backers 3 and the half yr old son runs onto the field and almost becomes baseballs latest tragedy. I have no problem with the kid being there, and think it's noble that they're allowing "the next generation" in the dugout if only to win them over young... but i think this proves my point how little thinking and managing goes on in the dugout..... how many of you could even read the paper or walk across the room without your 3 1/2 year old nagging you.
