LI Bust

And yet there are Amps that have been there for decades. The Shop comes to mind immediately. My memory of that place goes back 20 years and it’s still going strong.
The one and only time I went there when I came out some guys were hanging outside at a strip club across the street (smoking?) and stared yelling stuff like "how was it". This was a long time ago, (10 years maybe?)

Reign of Terror
Article in today's Newsday about Huntington Town is going to steeply raise the fines for code violations. Some ugly bitch who looks like she never gets fucked, a town board member is quoted as pointing out foot spa and massage places are really only for prostitution and the article mentions the 10 busts in Dix Hills, Huntington Station, East Northport, and Greenlawn.

I'd link the article but it's probably behind a paywall. Maybe someone else knows how to post it to get around it?

Who are you and where is the real billyS? This shit gets you banned instantly.
A link to a story in Newsday about busts we've been talking about?x

What I meant is that sometimes when there is in article in Newsday behind a fire wall someone will post a link to the story from a local news source like Patch.

I don't think raising code violation fines will actually do anything.

So far, I have helped 2 AMP owners rectify their code violations. Usually, an inspector comes and code violations are noted and then the owner has 30 days to correct the violations. Once the violations are corrected, you send information to the inspectors and then they will close the case. There won't be any fines levied at all if you correct the violations.

The problem arises because most of the AMP owners are Chinese immigrants, and they don't understand English. So if they get the violation notice and don't take any corrective action, that is when the trouble starts for them. But if they get an American friend to look over the violations report and help guide them, then there won't be any problems and all the violations will be dismissed.

Fixing code violations, arrests, all are part of doing business. ICE. That is what really scares the girls. Once an AMP has been visited by ICE, no girl will go work there.

If I'm at an AMP and see stupid violations* I point to them while making a motion like I'm writing on a clipboard. I always get a smile and a nod and the girl will point it out to the mamasan

* Multiple extension cascaded cords, no cover plate on outlet, burned out exit light, material blocking rear exit — stuff that can be cheaply and easily corrected but can cause grief from a building inspector.

@genius I commend you for trying to help. But I think your efforts were wasted. I think the girls or MMS just smiled and nodded and then let you leave.

Here is my experience.

When MMS approached me with the violations list, she was very hesitant. But she feared that her store would be a target if these were not fixed. It’s funny that you mentioned an outlet without the face plate. That was one of her 9 violations.

I explained that all she needed to do was buy a face plate and install it. She didn’t know how and she didn’t know anyone to call. Another violation was that the fire extinguishers needed to be inspected. Again, she didn’t know who to call.

I slowly realized something. These women live in a continuous state of fear and unease. You and I have no problem calling up a service person and making an appointment for a fire extinguisher inspection. But they do. They are afraid that any misstep will bring in the police.

She begged for my help, and I agreed. I made the calls from her phone, setup all the appointments and did the minor things myself.

I had her submit all the required documents and she got a notice back that the violations have been satisfied.

After that I became king of the AMP. Lol. Free massages, no house fee but I did need to tip. All the girls knew I was in tight with the boss, so they went out of their way to make me happy.

It really curtailed my ability to review this place. But well worth it.

Yeah, its a shame about a piece of shit $1 outlet face plate getting a place closed down and a fine.

I may bring some with me (plastic ones) next time.

sounds like your good deed got rewarded.
