HR 1865, "FOSTA"

It doesn't. And FOSTA has nothing to do with it. Not every decision made in life is part of a gov't conspiracy.
Currently the Amazons, Smashwords and B&N's are now citing FOSTA as the reason du jour; while I agree that the law has no nexus to works of written fiction, it is an unintended consequence at this time....the "in an abundance of caution" or "what about the children" tripe when trying to push a politically flawed ideology

Philip Defranco covered it nicely in a YouTube video a while back.
(I tried to post this before, when it was more timely, but had a YouTube fail.)

The American "Pravda", lying to the American public through the mainstream media to go full Orwellian on its citizen's

Under pressure from the federal government and driven by persistent myths about the nature and prevalence of sex trafficking, hotel chains like Marriott have become the new frontiers of the surveillance state.

Just so everyone realizes the headline is designed to mislead:
"Authorities discovered three cases that were related to sex trafficking"
So the real takeaway statistic is:
301 runaways
123 easily found by simply checking the most obvious locations
3 cases of sex trafficking.
So next time someone tries to tell you how pervasive sex trafficking is in this country, remember the last article you read actually found less than 1% of runaways/missing kids as being sex trafficked.

Actually, going on just the facts presented in the article it seems that only 1% of those easily found as you stated were being trafficked. There were still 178 that weren't easily found, unaccounted for and may possibly be in that circumstance so the percentage could easily be much higher. Brookhaven Hospital has just instituted a new policy regarding trafficking that I will not specifically outline because trafficking on the Island has become a big enough issue to warrant it. I don't believe it is fair to minimize this issue.

I can't speak for Slinky but I think he's referring to the skewing of the facts to support an agenda. I think 95% here do not minimize real trafficking.

Great article. All that effort and within days there were copycat sites up and running. Closing the site made almost no difference at all. Except I'm sure the copycat sites will not be so willing to help LE weed out under age prositition.

And really went would they help, knowing that the government will go after them with a vendetta. They're far better off legally, denying any law enforcement organization any assistance, and just deal with the public hating them for percieved crimes

And in its 7th year of wasting taxpayers money during Superbowl and the ensuing Propaganda Campaign spiking the football so to speak

And still not a single real/legimate case of "sex trafficking" in 7 years

https://reason.com/2022/02/16/214-sex-workers-arrested-in-super-bowl-human-trafficking-mission/

From prior years
just typical daily/ regular prostitution, no sex trafficking.

And here's what Congress is up to, to further make consensual adults exchanging things of value for sex.
