Did I dodge a sting?

#1
So, I wanted to ask you dudes with more experience if I handled myself correctly today, or if I'm just inexperienced. I'm out of town in PHX, and I've sampled 2 providers with no issues already. I wanted to see a third, and this is what happened:

I found an ad on usual site. It looks like this chick has had multiple numbers, so she appears quite a few times. The # she is using now has very little traction in terms of reviews on the site. I texted 2 days ago, no answer, despite comments saying she replies quickly. I tried again today, and about 5 hours later she replies.

She's asks when, I am wide open and I want an hour. She says to come now. Then the questions start, about if I want 1 or 2 pops, $250 or $300. I'm not used to providers listing the dollar signs in text. She wants me to take a selfie with my pinky in the shot, and she sends me the same picture. She asks if I'm LE. I say no. She gives me address. I get ready to head out, 30 minutes. About 10 minutes later, she asks for ETA. I reply about 20 and ask her the same LE question. No answer.

I get close to hotel (it was a DoubleTree) and still nothing. I park in a strip mall next door and wait. 10 minutes pass and nothing. I'm wary and now I'm late, with no text asking where I am. I decide to leave. As I'm leaving, I see a cop car parked across from the strip mall, and see it as a sign.

On the way back, she finally texts and says "No I'm affiliated with law enforcement, you aren't either, right?" and now I'm freaked out by the omission of the word "not". I point it out to her and she's confused. 10 minutes later, she realizes what she said and days "my bad, I am not affiliated" but now I've wasted her time and she's gonna book someone else. I say I understand and apologize.

Now, here's what bothers me:
1. Ad with same name and pictures, but new number.
2. Direct talk of number of pops and $ in text.
3. Delay answering me and then the potential innocent mistake.
4. Phoenix PD has been conducting stings, as recently as last month, as I was nervously Googling while I was waiting.
5. It just didn't feel right, despite her being an absolute cutie.

So, am I at least somewhat justified in being freaked out? Or was this rookie nerves?

Very good possibility.

But out of curiosity, Nevada isn’t very far. A few hours away. Why not just go where it’s legal (and the chicks are fucking hot)…….

I am catsitting at a friend's house while he's out of town, so I am tethered to this house for the most part. To get to NV would take me 4+ hours one way. Plus, the price of gas is atrocious.

But thanks for validating. I just don't know how paranoid to be out here.

I could be wrong but my guess is, If it was a sting, they wouldn’t have kept you waiting.
They would want to grab you before you changed your mind.

A decent provider probably wouldn’t have different numbers.
it would be too hard for their regular’s to find them.

Always follow your instincts when in doubt. You did the right thing.

For those of you that care, I saw another provider today (verified this one) and ran the story by her between pops. She said cops run a lot of stings in Tempe and Mesa hotels, and this situation from yesterday was a a Tempe hotel. So, I might have actually dodged a bullet.

Today's review if anyone cares: (Spoiler - she was amazing) https://utopiaguide.pl/forums/index.php?threads/marie-480-440-5764-nw-phoenix.58355/

Something doesn't seem right with the thinking here.

I haven't been to Phoenix in a long time but it was a rough town then and still is now with a high homicide rate and street crime. Couple that with a shortage of cops.
Seems odd to waste LE resources of something like higher end sex workers that doesn't do anything to bring down the core issues affecting the people there.
Just sayin.

I get that, but if you Google it, they're actively performing stings. Operation "Spring Fling" was just carried out a month ago.

Not too different from the boys in Suffolk cracking down on AMPs, if you ask me.

Very different if you ask me.
Phoenix/Suffolk population of about 1.6M, 1.5 M, respectively so is about the same but homicide rates are 12/100K vs 2 per 100K respectively .

Phoenix has unfilled LE positions whereas Suffolk does not.

Phoenix has a homicide problem IMHO whereas Suffolk not nearly as much (6X the rate).

So the question is where do you put your LE resources: reducing 6X the homicide rate where you have visible bodies lying in the street or going after hotel escort's customers that you only see where when they are arrested during a sting.

Strange priorities don't you think?

I don't consider $250-$300 to be higher end especially in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area. All depends who the provider was and the source of the advertising. The possible sting could be based upon activity trends from a popular site that attracts the riskiest of providers.

I said "higher end sex workers " and I refereed only to Phoenix.

Sex workers include the lower end such as street walkers. I doubt if even the SW's in Phoenix that charge the highest rates in SW category of sex workers come close to charging $250-$300. Not sure how many (if any) SW's are in Scottsdale — I saw a lot in Phoenix but none in Scottsdale when I was there years back.

I stand by my original post about the "waste LE resources of something like higher end sex workers."
