Dating site extortion experience

#21
I set up an Alternate Gmail account, and use it for stuff like this, and when they try to extort me i say go right ahead, show everyone.. I don't care! They try this on face book also, hot looking girl friend requests me and i then play into their game, but on face book i never send any pics because i don't have a fake fb account.

before i set up the fake Gmail account, they tried this to me, i paused for a minute and said go right ahead, do what you have to do, i Hope you do, this shows them that they have nothing on you that would bother you, i then say, its to bad, im very successful (which im not) and i could have really taken care of you. just to get a dig in to them..

Good luck bro and don't sweat it
I think they are really a bunch of scammers in the Philippines rather than actual local women. And I think they almost never act on their threat because what they really want is money and they often succeed. If they see you won't pay they have no motivation to destroy your life and possibly be reported. At least that's my hope.

What exactly was the threat ? They would send the vid to everyone in your email address book ? Post it on line?

And if you do pay what's stopping them from saying that it is not enough and to pay some more?

Then you are right back to "Do I pay or not" question.

Doesn't make any sense to pay IMHO.

Not really sure where this goes but wanted to share this harrowing experience, hope it doesn’t happen to you. I made a really bad call today trying a chat site where I got lured into setting up a google meet with someone and goin on camera with them. Next thing I’m getting flooded with extortion to pay money or the video will be share with everyone in my gmail contacts. Also got sent a ridiculous picture of the grandparent that she needs the money for.

after being freaked out, I blocked the person who kept sending me messages in my gmail, probably through my google meet and sending me pics of my contacts. I also sent an email to all my contacts that my gmail is hacked and don’t open attachments or suspicious mail, I thought about deleting my gmail but didnt.

i have monitored all day and see nothing, 12 hours now. Nobody’s contacted me about anything wierd in gmail. Hoping he or she won’t do anything since I blocked and didn’t pay. Anyone else go thru this? I’m afraid of coming clean with SO or going to cops, but dont know how long before I can breath. Even more worried about getting exposed to everyone in my life. A real Anthony wiener moment. Should I send all my contacts a new email and shut this one down. any Suggestions. Kind of freaked out here.
I had the same exact experience, I immediately block them as they had none of my personal info. I just assume take the risk of losing everything before I give in to BS blackmail.

Totally. If you give anything you are gonna pay forever. They ruin peoples lives when people pay. Its never just one time. But if you ignore and block I think they jump to the next dude.

Paying is what gets some people trapped in a never ending cycle. I have heard of some tragedies from these heartless creeps ruining peoples lives.

Maybe I should look to see if there’s a thread on making your identity Invisible. If not I could start one.
-how to create a dummy identity
-spoofing
-VPN and how to hide your device
-IP addresses and how you’re traced
-creating dead FB accounts
-creating dummy e-mail addresses
-creating dummy SB accounts
-finding photos that look something like you but not enough to trigger facial recognition technology
-password protection programs, what’s best
-fake identities under LLCs
-obtaining out of state license plates, addresses, PO Boxes, etc.

i had this happen to me when some one got a hold of one of my old passwords that i used . They said that they have info on me and would make it public. It still goes on from time to time. Its a fishing scam to get you to pay them money.

And who is going to start the thread?
You or your friend?
Is he back again using your new account?
No. We’ve had this discussion.
I thought this was resolved.
He’s not around and you told me to only use this one account.
I made a brief joke yesterday on another thread about “stealing Articles” and it got deleted.
Why are you giving me crap?
if you don’t want me to contribute... just say so.
How does just lurking help this site?

I'm not "giving you crap".
You are in Moderation, so your posts are given more scrutiny than normal members.
If your posts don't advance a thread then they are deleted.

Since it was allegedly your "friend" who bragged about being invisible online, having no digital foot print, then it was only logical for me to ask which one of you was going to start that thread.

Also it was always your "friend" who would give me responses like that, like when he was pissed his review was deleted while "you" have always been civil with me.

Yes but instead they sent me pictures of people all cut up in pieces and said if I didn’t pay they were going to come and do that to me.
That was about three weeks ago and I am still in one piece

I’ve been hearing that a lot lately of someone or possibly more then one individual sending gruesome snuff pics of fucked up things and threatening to out you and try to get $ out of you. I’m guessing it’s the same group of people connected doing this because I’ve already heard a couple stories one from a friend and few other from another site describing exactly what happen to you

Well Billy, I get pissed too once in a while. He’s out of state in SC at his other office, not coming back to NY anytime soon, definitely not piggy backing on anything I do as you and I discussed and yes, I’ve learned many of the tricks to be invisible.
I just thought I would pass it on since I know how.

This has been going on for at least 4 years. It’s just a SCAM.
They tried this with me 3 years ago. I was to meet them in Staten Island with cash. They wanted me to mail money orders to a PO Box. They weren’t using cash apps for the scam yet. I called their bluff.
I actually went to the meet with hidden backup, they never showed and never replied.
I know of at least 4 others who have had these experiences. Sometimes they tell you they have an old password of yours which it is, but it’s useless And they can’t get the new ones. Sometimes they’ll send the gruesome cut up pictures of people as if that’s what will happen to you. It’s all scare tactics. They’re sitting in the basement somewhere in their underwear with one hand on the keyboard and the other hand on their dick and they’re hoping you’ll send the money. They don’t want to leave the house, They don’t want to get involved in committing serious crimes like kidnapping or murder or assault.. they just looking for quick cash. If you don’t even engage, they’re not even sure you’re reading their Threatening messages and they’ll move on to the next one.
You should not use one password for everything. There are multiple apps available in the App Store like Msecure
That can store all your passwords, and whenever you click on a link With a previously saved it’ll automatically populate your password for you. It can even generate passwords for you so you don’t have to bother making them up.

Recently received an email showing a password I had used in the past and saying that they have accessed my contacts and will send out pics of me masturbating to porn if I didn't send bitcoin to them. Well, good luck to them, as I have never masturbated on line or in front of my computer. That they had the password and handle was a bit disturbing from a general security standpoint, but I cannot trace where it was stolen from as I had used them years ago before heightening security and using different passwords per account. I just deleted the email. Got a second one several days later, ignored and deleted it as well. All quiet since.
