Bronx short stay

I'm looking for a good short stay place in the Bronx. Preference for nice, clean rooms and in a location that is relatively safe.

Anyone have any recommendations that fit the bill? I'm not looking for the cheapest place with run down rooms.

If the Whitestone Motel is still there, it was a great spot. You could see it right from the Hutch.

There also used to be a pretty ok short stay off the Sheridan expressway. We brought a couple of dancers from Al’s Mister Wedge (does that place still exist!?) there like 20+ years ago. Filthiest strip bars anywhere!!! Als mister wedge, Harry’s hairy triangle, Mickey and Anthony’s and the worst of the group The GOAT!!!
