I swear "low-key" went from being a phrase to becoming punctuation.

"Low-key, I woke up..."
"Low-key, I brushed my teeth..."
"Low-key, low-key... no cap... bro..."

At some point I don't even know what the sentence is about anymore.

And it's always somebody whose entire personality is annoying strangers for YouTube views or hosting the 847th "Bro Podcast" where everyone talks over each other. Low-key... I'm exhausted. ;)
Low-key @angeliquelaroux , seems like we are on the same page with this, low-key.

I've noticed alot of females in their mid 20s like to use the word "low key " based on the conversations with the ones from sa at least. One time this chic said to me "bruh low key your tongue game is fire " lol. I was like bitch no cap. Lol.

I fucking hate the word "Glizzy"!!!

Somewhere, Oscar Mayer is shaking their head.

"We spent decades building a brand... and y'all landed on glizzy? :D

Glizzy" is one of those words that makes me irrationally angry.

It sounds like something you'd scrape out of the shower drain, not something you'd put ketchup on.

Heard one of my sons friends call another friend a "glizzy gobbler " once lol. Now I mess with my son and tell him his mom is my personal glizzy gobbler lol.
LOL, Your poor son probably files a weekly emotional damage report.
Nothing humbles a kid faster than hearing his dad weaponize Gen Z slang. :p

The best part is your son can never use that word again... because every time he does, you're going to ruin it for him. That's elite parenting. ;)

Nah you and @angeliquelaroux are High-key saying Low-Key has been used odeee lately by mad ppl

Odeee meaning too much.
Mad meaning a lot of people.

I'm over here trying to keep up with the English language, and y'all keep releasing software updates.

"Odee" means too much.
"Mad" means a lot.

At this rate, I'm gonna need patch notes just to have a conversation. :D
I swear Gen Z wakes up every morning and votes on a new definition for a word.

Yesterday "mad" was angry...
Today it's "a lot"...
Tomorrow it'll probably mean "good morning."

Lot of slang used today was created by Gen X. Some Millenials. A small amount by Gen Z. I first heard Low-Key like over 15 years ago.

I like slang. I grew up saying. Phat, fly, dope etc.

I dont mind low key. Dead ass I use. No cap not really and not a big fan. Prefer saying-nah for real. Even adapted to- we lit.

One phrase i never liked though has been- it aint that serious.

Another phrase I've liked for years has been pause. I used to say no homo sometimes but thats frowned upon now so I try not to say it in professional environments but pause I can say.
:p I feel you on that.

“I grew up on phat, fly, dope” means you’ve already survived like 3 generations of slang evolution and still came out fluent.

But “it ain’t that serious” always hits like someone is minimizing a full emotional TED Talk I didn’t agree to give. :p

And “pause” is one of those elite classics—it does exactly what it needs to do without opening a whole courtroom case. Clean, efficient, no unnecessary debate. ;)
