Well they sent down Lagrange and Dominguez as well. We all knew this was happening but they made it official. Cashman will always go with what he thinks will make his decisions look good - even if it’s not in the team’s best interest. Dominguez should be starting with Grisham on the bench. Lagrange should be starting with Weathers in the pen or working out his issues in the minors. Cashman is going to ram Grisham and Weathers down our throats like Donaldson, Hicks et al.

I like Gil. He may have a clunker every once in a while but over the course of the season - he should be very good. I hope the same for Weathers - but he hasn’t shown much so far.

I am going with 97 wins - 1st in AL East. They will be better than last year.
I was thinking the same thing. I think this team is better than people think.

I think sometimes people get caught up in off season moves.

I think the pitching will be a above average.
Bednar is a beast and has the stones to be a closer. Huge improvement over the past few, especially Holmes and Williams. I liked him last year and his last two outings in the WBC really impressed me.

Starters will be fine especially when Cole and Rodon are back and we have depth with those kids in AAA.

Wells tweaked his stance and looked like a different hitter in the WBC and may be ready to take the next step. Remember he finished 2024 strong.

Chisolm needs to be a better situational hitter but I fear since it's a walk year for him he probably will be just looking to pad his stats and swing for the fences every at bat regardless of the situation. Hope I'm wrong.

I have a feeling The Martian will be called up at some point, either an injury or Grisham regressing to his old self, and make significant contributions.

Judge will put up MVP numbers and continue to be the best player in the game, impacting the game with his bat, glove and arm.

Stanton will be a beast when healthy but miss significant time.

Rice and Bellinger will produce at All-star levels.

SS and 3B will sort themselves out. Maybe a blockbuster trade at the deadline if none of the guys on the roster are adequate.

But yeah, between 95-100 wins and the East title. If all the starters are healthy and pitching up to their potential then another trip to the World Series is highly likely.

Great takes yet again, a few opinions.

I trust nobody in bullpen other than Bednar. Cruz, Doval, and Bird don't cut it for me.
Starting depth is solid, I look for Cole to be a beast come late summer.
Jazz is a hot dog and just not Yankee fiber imo, if the guy could manage to hit .275 with his speed and power WOW. But you right he will be swinging for the fences all the time.

I hope Martian gets called up, I see ZERO production from Grisham, SS, 3B, and catcher position. Dominguez and Jones were their best hitters all spring.

Gut says Stanton might actually remain relatively healthy this year, not sure why I am leaning that way. 35 hrs is certainly obtainable if he does and that would be huge for this roster. I could see Rice hitting 40. Belly is what he is, 20-25 hrs. 275 average, solid Def.
