As a massive Italian soccer fan, was heartbroken to see Italy go out before the tournament...that said its been a fun tournament so far and I think a semi final of Brazil v Argentina on one side and England vs France on the other leading to a Messi vs Ronaldo final would be objectively awesome. By 2026 hopefully both USA and Italy will be ready to actually compete for the title again and will happily spend monger money on World Cup tickets lol.
Another somewhat boring but nail bitting quaterfinal match got really interesting on overtime.
Brazil vs Croatia started out as a potential drawless match that would go into penalties but that 1st blood by Neymar was a thing of beauty.
Going against their own style, Brazil got complacent and almost parked the bus after the got the lead.
A croatian counter attack caught the brazilian defense balls deep into distraction as a precise cross found 2 opposition strikers outside the penalty box - Petkovič capitalized on the opportinity to make it 1-1.
Croatia is no stranger to advancing deep into the knockout stage via penalties and this game was no exception.

The Nederlands vs Argentina was pure madness (there were 48 fouls, 14 yellow cards, & 1 red car). I am sure millions of albiceleste fans and supporters had a heart attack when the Nederlands scored deep into overtime to make it 2-2 and take the game into extra time.

Another big surprise was on Saturday monday when Morocco stunned Portugal by maintaining the 1-0 lead thru the 90th minute (+8 minute overtime) and elevated their legacy as the 1st Arab/African nation to make it to the semifinals. Only time will tell how far they can go and perhaps shock the world.
