Great black bread, Lithuanian, rye wheat, German, you name it. Comes in every day still warm.
If that be the case, and I don't doubt that you have access to Old World, whole grain, hearth bread that has somehow evaded my tiresome search, then I am on a plane without delay back to my beloved NEW YORK CITY. I can foresee my depraved hunger for HONEST BREAD will slice that whole Lithuanian dark rye "bad boy" lengthwise, throw the loaf back into an oven only after dousing the exposed interior with some good rich virgin olive oil, some razor-thin sliced garlic and a sprinkle of the finest Pecorino Romano with some green and black olives on the side and prepare a pot of perfect deep rich roasted coffee.
